UPLS Hotel

Hotel was good for us. Huge room that was clean and pleasant albeit a little dated. Fruit was delivered each day of our stay as was yoghurt. Breakfast was great and a good start to our day - if you love a good coffee however, don't expect one at the hotel. Even from the machine it is a 3 in 1 mix. Would recommend this place for the price.

Great service! They have humidifier in the room. This is a must in this city.

To be honest, as backpackers we wouldn’t have stayed in this fancy hotel if we had cheaper options in town for foreigners. But UPLS was the cheapest hotel which take foreigners in Zhongwei downtown, so we decided to compromise with the reality. Turned out, we enjoyed a very chilled and relaxed time here. The room was clean and huge, welcoming fruit was a nice touch, the bathtub was just perfect to clean ourselves up after the desert camping. And the staff was very kind and polite, their service was 5star hotel level. Since it’s in the downtown not Shapotou, Location was also good enough to check Drum tower and Gao temple. The only Downside of the hotel is probably breakfast. Being one of the few hotels for foreigners in town and over 600 kuai per night, they don’t have proper coffee nor the Western options of food. The steak was too fatty, the noodle was not cooked well. So we liked it in general but It would be nicer if the price can be cheaper.

Friendly personnel. Only limited English is spoken, but you can’t be picky since it is one of view hotels accepting foreigners in Zhongwei. Good location in Zhongwei center. Breakfast was quite okay considering local standards. Had a suite with two bathrooms which was quite nice, massage chair was big fun!

Huge hotel room with good amenities. Breakfast was decent but it ended very sharply at 9.30am. Reception staff were a little impatient with us as they had to complete additional paperwork. Great location in town and easy parking outside the front of the hotel off the road.
