Z Qingju Hotel

Word of advice - stay away if you are a non-smoker OK, so here is an honest review from someone who stays in a lot of budget hotels. I really wanted to like this hotel because it was cheaper than the others, and it was right across my favorite mall, which is the nicest mall in the Zhuhai (Huafa Shopping Mall) but it just did not work for me. First of all, the walls were very dirty and was badly in need of repainting; The carpets along the hallway were quite stained; There were also molds everywhere in the corners of the room and near the AC, but honestly, I didn’t mind those details that much. What I could not live with was the smell of cigarettes that comes and goes INSIDE the room and take note - I do not smoke. When I checked in and entered the room, it was OK but during the night I could barely sleep (or breathe) because it started to smell like someone was smoking near me. I could not explain this at all, so I just thought that maybe there is something wrong with the ventilation system that allowed me to smell smoke coming from the other rooms (because they do allow smoking inside the rooms).  I stayed for one night and decided to check out the next day. Honestly, I don’t understand the higher ratings. There are a lot of hotels in Zhuhai that cost around the same but are a lot better (trust me because I’ve been exploring quite a few) - So you really don’t have to tolerate a thing.

This hotel is affordable and clean. However, the room I chose has no window and have cigarette smell when I walked in. The location is very good , there is a big mall across the road. Food and shopping has no problem.
