Zug Hostels

Very clean and centrally located in train. Probably re-renoved with modern rooms. The staff is friendly and premature. There can be deep garage spaces for Fr.20. -- to this end ( cheap for train) . The rooms are rather expensive and despite the express wish for a room with balcony and just a few booked rooms, we got a room without balcony. We found it bad. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, unfortunately there are no Kingsize beds or we have no offered anything. Breakfast is average, the staff very friendly.

Alors que nous sommes arrivés sans réservation, nous avons été parfaitement bien accueillis à la réception. Nous avons reçu 2 belles chambres (parents + adolescent). L'hôtel est idéalement situé en centre ville mais malgré tout calme, le soir aucun bruit. On est à 2 pas du lac dans une vieille bâtisse rénovée avec beaucoup de goût. Le patron M. Hegglin parle un très bon français (aussi le personnel) et l'atmosphère est familiale, sympathique et chaleureuse. Nous avons mangé au restaurant dans une belle salle avec un menu niveau ”gastro” où la présentation superbe des assiettes était au niveau de l'excellence des mets servis (filet de veau au morilles). Le plateau de fromage vaut le détour, des fromages choisis par le patron chez les producteurs, en Suisse et à l'étranger. Il y a une cave à vins impressionnante avec des prix somme tout très corrects. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est hyper complet et tout le personnel très attentionné. Vraiment une adresse à recommander sans réserve et où on retournera volontiers.

I stayed in this hotel quite a bit a few years ago and always enjoyed my stays. So I was looking forward to staying again whilst in Zug on business. First impressions were excellent with a warm welcome and efficient check in. The hotel has obviously been refurbished since my previous stay and the room was very good. The furniture was modern and comfortable, and additions such as the Nespresso machine were a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and the shower excellent. The bed was comfy and I slept well. Breakfast selection in the morning was good with plenty of choice. I have no complaints or issues about this hotel and would happily stay here again. Ands I have no problem recommending it.

Stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip. Room was great, spacious and modern. Only downside is the reception is only manned until about 10.45-11.00 at night, so if you are arriving late you need to check in at the sister hotel around the corner. Bar was pricey but I think that’s just Switzerland! Breakfast was good, enough options, but kind of spread out over the dining area. The hotel offers large umbrellas to borrow at reception which was a bonus. It is well located, easy access to the train station and city.
