When it comes to World Heritage Sites in Cambodia, Angkor Wat is the name that comes to mind🇰🇭 Known as the world's largest Buddhist temple, it was built in the first half of the 12th century📝 In Khmer, Angkor Wat means 'City Temple', and it took about 30 years to construct! This time, I got up early to see the sunrise from Angkor Wat☀️ In front of the Angkor Wat buildings, there's a lotus pond, and you can enjoy the reflection as well🪞 While midday is nice, the sunrise at Angkor Wat was absolutely beautiful!

Truly the experience of a lifetime! We took a tour to see the sunrise over the temple and it was truly an amazing site. Almost the entire temple complex is open to be explored. You can visit the first, second, and the top levels of the temple. It was originally built as a Hindu Temple and was later converted into a Buddhist temple. Tons of history at the site. Beautiful carvings in the walls.

My journey through the mystical realm of Angkor began with the morning sun casting a serene glow over Angkor Wat. As the light washed over the temple's intricate reliefs, each step took me deeper into the narrative of a bygone empire, with hushed voices and the gentle sound of monks chanting in the distance. Midday brought me to the embracing ruins of Ta Prohm Temple, where nature and stone are locked in a delicate dance. The majestic trees, their roots cascading over the ruins, seemed to hold secrets as old as the stones they graced. The Buddha faces of Bayon Temple watched over me in the afternoon light, their serene smiles hinting at the eternal peace of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Walking among the giant faces and grand ruins, I pondered the lives that once filled these spaces. As the day closed, I ascended Phnom Bakheng, joining others in silent anticipation. And as the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky burst into colors, framing the day's end in a display as dramatic as the history that unfolded beneath it. Travel to Angkor Wat, which is located North of the City Siem reap in Cambodia I recommend organising a Tuktuk driver to pick you up early the next morning so you can experience the breathtaking view of sunrise at Siem reap There are many many people there so once you arrive in pitch black, just sit and wait! Angkor Wat is one of the world’s largest religious complexes and as a result there are many temples to explore. You can do this on foot partly, but your tuktuk driver will take you round the loop to visit all the sites. We were finished by lunchtime as it is a lot of walking and an early start, but this should definitely be on every travellers bucket list! #culturalattraction
