The scenic area is a single deep valley, mainly accessible by vehicle, with easy hiking, friendly for altitude sickness, a top short trip from Chengdu, and can be combined with Gergou hot springs. Suitable for families and beginners for one- or two-day trips.
📍 Arrival guide: About 2.5–3h drive from Chengdu via Rongchang Expressway, good road conditions; take the Chadianzi bus to Li County, then carpool to the scenic area; unified entrance at the visitor center, single-route tour with no backtracking.

2. Bailong Waterfall: 200m high mountain waterfall, forest stream, cool and photogenic
3. Panyang Lake (3,676m | core highlight): wide mirror-like lake, reflections of snow-capped peaks, wooden boardwalk around the lake, occasional wild sheep; prime photo spot
4. Swallow Rock Nest (3,837m | highest point): panoramic snow mountain views, alpine meadows, distant views of General Peak and Half Ridge Peak, wide open views, highest point and end of the route

8:00 AM enter from visitor center → sightseeing bus direct to Shanghaizi → electric shuttle up to Swallow Rock Nest (highest point), hike down from the top to save energy and avoid fog → hike or shuttle down to Panyang Lake, take photos on the boardwalk and enjoy snow mountain reflections → pass Bailong Waterfall and Longwang Lake → sightseeing bus back to visitor center; total about 5–6h
2-day 1-night comfortable version:
Day 1: Chengdu → half-day easy hike in Bipenggou → stay at Gergou hot spring town, soak in hot springs to relax and relieve altitude sickness
Day 2: morning complete highlights/slow hike, afternoon return

2. Clothing & weather: large temperature difference on the plateau, strong UV rays; wear a windbreaker + light down jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat; even in summer bring warm layers and rain gear
3. Key transport order: take the electric shuttle first to the top at Swallow Rock Nest, hike down to save energy, avoid afternoon fog, and get clearer snow mountain views; don’t hike up to save shuttle fare, uphill is very tiring
4. Book tickets early in peak season; food and drinks inside the scenic area are expensive, bring your own snacks and water; respect Tibetan customs and practice leave no trace
