Ejina Populus Euphratica Forest Tourist Area Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Morning veiw and reflection of the scene make it imaginary. I was totally surprised to see the beautiful veiw during the sunrise. Populus Euphratica Forest in Ejina. The populus euphratica is one of the few trees which can live in the desert thanks to their strong vitality. They can survive where there is little water and rain , or in a climate with extremely high or low temperatures.

MAAK
Please make an appointment this fall: you must see Golden Populus in your life!
still remembers the scene of crazy running in Erdaoqiao Huyanglin. The heartbeat is accented with excitement and reaches the extreme. Every cell is boiling, seeing, saying, Can't describe it, here is God!
The Populus euphratica of the Ejina Banner is the oldest type of poplar tree that began to live on Earth more than 130 million years ago due to its amazing drought resistance, suffocating sand and salt-tolerant The ability to survive and multiply in the desert is praised as a "desert hero tree."
"Life and the millennium is not dead, death and the millennium does not fall, but the millennium is immortal", before and after 3 thousand years, the immortal annual ring and the lush foliage in the distance, how many cycles, continue in this land.... ..
Hu Yanglin Park, the most beautiful forest area
1 a bridge
a bridge scenic area is quite large, fewer people are scattered: the leaves are full of land, the year of " "Hero" is a view of this, a cluster of clumps, quiet and deep, completely integrated in this piece of forest
a dried Populus euphratica from the inside out, rooted in the sand, never fell, branches The dry is still quite extended...
2Xiling District
Although it is a scenic area, it is still a primitive appearance. This 5A is definitely the most I have ever seen. good!
With the extension of the path, the "golden" began to appear: the Populus euphratica here, some branches are connected into pieces, some are bent into the stream, each posture is different, each strain contains a different meaning of life
3Donglin District
This piece is the core of the entire Populus euphratica forest. It must be down in the blue sky during the day, and a large reflection forest is fascinating! Hu Yangs graceful posture, its not too much to look at!
Repeatedly echoed this sentence: "burn it, golden little universe"! Climb the trunk, the feet are naturally placed away from the ground, without the restraint of the ground, let go of any baggage, and relax, looking at the poplar forest through the sun, indulging in the golden world, the feeling is wonderful and the tide is tidal
4
The oldest Populus euphratica here, there is an immortal torso, here are the characters and poses that you cant capture in the city...
The old trees still stand. The gestures have not changed, and the change is the alternation of the sun, the moon and the stars!
Sunset, not just the sunset itself, the scenery under the afterglow is also a highlight! With the gradient color intertwined with the blue sky as the background, the corners and corners of the weekdays have become the protagonists, and the daggers are in a pose, and there is no style...
Tips:
The best time to watch the golden color of Populus euphratica is from early to mid-October every year. It is also a good time for a holiday when the National Day is high and cool!
Go to the Ejina Banner, one is self-driving, one is to the local free-running group, this group basically all-inclusive traffic, pure play! There is also a kind of traffic that is quite difficult for yourself!

Ejina Poplar Forest
Ejina Poplar Forest is located in the Ejina Oasis of Ejina Banner, Inner Mongolia. Each autumn, it welcomes the best season to appreciate the poplars. At a glance, the golden leaves dance under the sunlight against the azure sky, presenting a moving spectacle. The most renowned is the beauty of the golden autumn poplars, which possess an astonishing ability to resist drought, wind, sand, and saline-alkali conditions, allowing them to survive and thrive tenaciously in the desert. Hence, they are praised as the 'hero trees of the desert'. People extol the tremendous vitality of the poplars with the saying 'three thousand years', meaning they live for a thousand years without dying, stand for a thousand years after death, and remain undecayed for a thousand years thereafter. This place is a photography paradise for many enthusiasts, and a vast expanse of golden poplar forest always attracts tourists to visit in this autumn.

Known as China's most beautiful desert, the Badain Jaran Desert
Badain Jaran Desert:
Located in the northern part of Alxa Right Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, to the west of the Yabulai Mountains, north of Beidashan, east of the weak water, and south of Guizi Lake, spanning from 39°34' to 42°N latitude, it covers an area of 49,200 square kilometers. It is the third largest desert in China and the fourth largest in the world. Badain Jaran is praised by National Geographic China as 'the curves drawn by God'. The annual precipitation here is less than 40 millimeters, yet it boasts 144 inland lakes.
The Badain Jaran Desert is the main body of the Alxa Desert in Inner Mongolia. The long-term wind action has formed unique landscapes of singing sands, lakes, miraculous springs, peculiar peaks, and temples, known as the 'Five Wonders' of the Badain Jaran Desert.
The Baoritaolegai Singing Sand Dunes in the Badain Jaran Desert rise over two hundred meters high, with steep peaks and sharp ridges, varying in height and creating a melodious sound when the wind blows, earning the reputation of 'the Kingdom of Singing Sands' in the world.
The lakes in the desert are scattered like stars, with reeds growing around them, waterfowl playing, and fish swimming in the shallow waters, known for their beauty as 'the Jiangnan of North of the Great Wall'.
The edges of the desert are vast with Gobi, where the peculiar wind-eroded rocks, mushroom stones, stone pillars, and grand canyon landforms are breathtaking.
Sand dunes, singing sands, lakes, green grass, birds, blue sky, ancient temples, steeds, camels, and the blending of water and sky form a unique desert landscape.
The desert is vast with sand and desolation, but it still harbors rocks, grasslands, and lakes, with tenacious and peculiar flora, showcasing the indomitable vitality of nature. The camel thorn is the most resilient plant in the desert and also the most beautiful scenery there.
🌞The sand mountains of the Badain Jaran Desert are known for their height, danger, steepness, and majesty, with a typicality unmatched by any other desert in the world. The sand mountains generally have altitudes between 1200 and 1500 meters, among which the Bilutu Peak, with its elevation of 1617 meters and a relative height of over 500 meters, is the highest in the deserts of the world, earning the title 'Everest of the Deserts'.
The scenery here is hard to describe with common words; it somewhat exceeds our cognition of beautiful landscapes. This place is neither a fairyland nor an earthly paradise, but a realm of magic.

The Most Beautiful Desert
The Badain Jaran Desert, located at the bottom of the Yingen Basin in the western part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, covers an area of 49,200 square kilometers.
The Badain Jaran Desert is the third largest desert in China. Its main attractions include Badain Lake, Badain Jaran Temple, and the Bilutu Sand Mountain, among others. The desert is home to plant species such as saxaul, Nitraria, Tamarix, Artemisia seeds, Populus euphratica, and camel thorn, as well as dozens of species of wild animals and birds, including swans, wild ducks, argali, gazelles, badgers, foxes, and more.
In 2006, the Badain Jaran Desert was selected as one of the '50 Places in China Most Worth Visiting for Foreigners' and won a gold award. It was jointly recommended by the National Tourism Administration and the China Association for Scientific Expedition as one of the first seventeen most representative adventure tourism areas in the country.

The pearl of the Badain Jaran Desert
In the depths of the desert, there is actually a temple, and this small oasis is known as Sumin Jilin, also called Temple Lake. Although the lake is saline, it is full of life, and the groundwater near the temple is drinkable. Blue sky, clear lake, yellow sand, and green grass create a harmonious picture. No wonder this place is hailed as the pearl of the Badain Jaran Desert.
It is said that in the past, the temple's abbot had to ride a camel for two weeks to go shopping, but now, with the desert vehicles, it only takes 3 hours.
The area is quite small, and it takes only half an hour to walk around. After having lunch at the tin-roofed restaurant, taking a nap, sipping some tea, I wanted to listen to the lamas chanting and performing rituals, but unfortunately, I couldn't understand, so I quietly left the crowded small temple. It's better to sit in a cool place and enjoy the scenery.

Extreme hiking
Solo trekking through the Tengger Desert in Inner Mongolia. This was a surreal, unreaĺ, immensely difficult task but remains one of my proudest accomplishments to date
Located in the far Northwest of China the Tengger Desert is a vast empty area of wilderness there is nothing around except for desolate sand. However this doesn't mean it's without charm. It's actually nice in it's own way. With a real sense of nature. There is beauty here too with the sand dunes providing excellent backgrounds to the horizon.
Challenge yourself to a once in a lifetime experience and something you'll never forget

Swan lake - red lake (Tengger desert tour)
Our 3day Tengger desert tour started from Yinchuan, the red lake had to be it's superhighlight😊
Well, you can compare real pictures (August) with the first one from the drone the tour guide shared (captured somewhen in spring) 😁
Still it was a superhighlight, though a bit (MUCH🤭) smaller than expected and overadvertised.
The stop at the lake was a few hours (we had more time, as we rented camels to catch up with the rest of the group)
The water and surface were extremely hot 🔥
Still recommend to have this great experience: not so many red lakes on the planet

In the Tengger Desert, in addition to the Moon Lake and Swan Lake, which everyone knows, there is also a lake. This is a relatively original scenic spot. When it is not the peak season, there are no ones. The car is in the desert, it feels great, the lake should be a saline-alkali lake, and the blue sky and white clouds reflect the beauty of the lake. The lake is in a small basin in the desert, where a small ecosystem is embarked, and the feeling of the wetlands is worth a visit.

Juyanhai Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
I finally made up for the regret that I passed through Juyanhai two years ago and did not enter the scenic spot: It turns out that it is worth a visit!
Juyanhai Alashan in Inner Mongolia, although called "sea", is actually a lake. A clear blue lake, surrounded by spectacular reeds, with broom-like flowers on the top, in the glow of the rising and curtaining, each one is set with a golden glow. Splendid in the desert of the desert.
There are thousands of red-billed seagulls flying in the sea, or flying in the air, or resting in the reeds, lakes, or playing with people. As the sun rises slowly, the red-billed seagull screams through the sky, adding vitality to the sleepy night of Juyanhai. Red-billed gulls, they are completely not afraid of people, swaying along the plank road, interacting with the tourists who came to watch the sunrise, enjoying the pleasant life here.
This trip is accompanied by Rui Kang, and Wei Wei happens to send guests from Jiuquan, so we met with our two full-time drivers, the last time (when I met) It was Hulunbeier in eastern Inner Mongolia in 2015. This time, in the Ejina Banner in western Inner Mongolia, we all have stories with Inner Mongolia...

Waiting for the sunrise at Juyanhai is truly wonderful
Juyanhai is the terminal lake of China's second largest inland river, the Heihe River, and was one of the largest lakes in the northwest in prehistoric times, as well as one of the four great desert lakes in China. Water birds and reed marshes are its two treasures, with the lake's clear waves rippling and the heavy reed flowers in the vast reed marshes bending the branches and swaying in the wind. Various water birds inhabit here, and the Juyanhai wetland is an important passage on the migratory route of migratory birds crossing borders. The morning sun shining on the reed marshes has a unique charm. Blue sky, white clouds, clear water, reeds, seagulls, sunset, every moment is breathtakingly beautiful. The azure lake water, the dense wetlands, and the graceful poplar trees in the distance form a unique landscape between the north side of the Badain Jaran Desert and the 800-mile Gobi no-man's land to the west.
The Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei's verse 'A solitary smoke in the vast desert straight, the long river sunset round' was created at Juyanhai. When the wind rises in Ejin, the sand falls in Beijing city. In the early years, the sandstorms in Beijing in spring were very severe. The expedition team traced the wind upwards and went west to investigate the source of the sandstorm, and found that the historically famous Juyanhai had almost dried up, and the historically famous oasis had almost been desertified, with large areas of poplar forest dead. After years of management, Juyanhai now covers an area of more than 60 square kilometers, with clear waves on the lake surface and reeds growing on the lakeside, with the morning glow and seagulls flying together. Therefore, watching the sunrise at Juyanhai has now become a tourist hotspot.

Ejina Banner: Watching the sunrise over Juyanhai
📍 Juyanhai is actually a lake with a large water area. It is the second largest inland river in our country - the terminal lake of the Heihe River, located about 40 kilometers north of the Ejina Banner in the Alxa League of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
🌟 Juyanhai was called Juyan Ze during the Han Dynasty and Juyanhai during the Tang Dynasty. Originating from the Heihe River deep in the Qilian Mountains, it flows through the three provinces and regions of Qinghai, Gansu, and Inner Mongolia for more than 800 kilometers, and then merges into two Gobi depressions on the northwest edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, forming two large lakes, east and west, collectively known as Juyanhai.
🌟 Due to climate change, insufficient water resources, and other factors, the west and east Juyanhai dried up in 1961 and 1992, respectively. By 1999, the river channels within the territory of Ejina Banner had experienced over 200 days of disruption, leading to problems such as declining groundwater levels, shrinking oasis areas, and increasing sandstorm weather.
🌟 'The small Juyanhai is connected to Zhongnanhai.' The rapidly deteriorating ecology of the Ejina region has attracted high attention from the Central Committee of the Party and the State Council. The State Council has held several meetings to study the ecological construction of the Heihe River Basin, and in 2000, the water of the Heihe River finally flowed into the dried-up East Juyanhai. Since 2005, East Juyanhai has achieved historical continuity without drying up.
👍 Juyanhai is a must-visit spot for tourists to Ejina Banner·Alxa. The lake oasis in the vast desert wilderness is very eye-catching, especially in the early morning light, when the lake surface, aquatic plants, birds, and joyful tourists form a beautiful landscape under the shining sun and moon.
📝 Note tips: The sunrise is around 6:30 in the morning, and the temperature is about 10°C. Get up early to hit the road and wear a coat!

Juyanhai - Watching the most beautiful sunrise in the reed marshes
✈️ There is a beautiful place 40 kilometers north of Dalaihubu Town, Ejina Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is Juyanhai. Watching the magnificent sunrise here is the most brilliant.
🛺 In order to watch the sunrise, we got up early. When we arrived at Juyanhai, there were already many people who had arrived earlier. When we saw Juyanhai from a distance, the first thing we saw was the endless reeds fluttering in the wind and the seagulls soaring in the blue sky among the reeds. Walking on the ancient Juyan road, just for that brilliant. The sunrise did not disappoint everyone's expectations, and it rose slowly on the sea level on time. The plank road, reeds, and fresh sea water under the light and shadow form a beautiful picture, which will intoxicate many tourists. I can't help but sigh that such a vibrant water country can survive in the vast desert and desolate Gobi.

Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Alxa One-Day Tour | Come and join the fun
Transportation: Self-driving/Chartered car Recommended to find a local guide for a chartered car
Route: Alxa Tengger Desert - Highway photography
Preparation before departure: Sunglasses, bring your own snacks and drinks (the food in the desert is not tasty)
We hired a local guide for a chartered car, the guide provided pick-up and drop-off service throughout the journey, which was efficient and safe
We set off at 10:00 AM to head for the desert, the drive took about 2 hours. Along the way, the guide also gave us a brief explanation of the sights we passed, stories of Alxa's history, and interesting cultural anecdotes. Soon we entered the desert (come and find the saxaul trees you planted). It's a novel experience to have small animals suddenly rush out to block the road, but this is also why I don't really recommend self-driving for safety reasons.
Upon reaching the Tengger Desert, we had to switch to an off-road vehicle. I don't understand how the driver could find his way in the seemingly identical sands. You can directly find a place to enjoy sand sliding in the desert.
A drone video of crossing the Five Lakes will be provided
Camel Lake: The bottom of the lake has pink mineral crystals, I curiously touched them
Ulan Lake: Coming in June-July, it's like the red heart of the Earth
Swan Lake: The intersection of desert and grassland is magical!
The scenery and experience along the way were fantastic! Welcome everyone to come and check it out too!

The Heart of Crossing the Desert - Alxa
🏜️ Badain Jaran Desert: Not only is it the second largest desert in China, but it is also a mysterious natural wonder, hailed as the 'Everest of Deserts'. Compared to the Tengger Desert, Badain Jaran is even more captivating with its more primitive, spectacular sand dunes and unique desert lakes. It is not only a paradise for desert enthusiasts, but also a dream destination for every traveler seeking the ultimate natural beauty.
🌊 Hong Hai Zi - The Heart of the Desert: In this arid land where water sources seem almost impossible, there are unexpectedly hundreds of colorful desert lakes, the most famous of which is Hong Hai Zi, pulsating like the heart of the Earth. They not only add a bright touch to the desert but also provide a rare photography haven for visitors.
🚗 Off-road Sand Rush Experience: In Badain Jaran, there is nothing more exciting than sitting in an off-road vehicle, breaking through the sand dunes, and experiencing a unique desert journey. The sand dunes here are higher, larger, and less traveled, making each sand rush full of the unknown and challenge.
🔍 Exploring the Secrets of the Desert: The Badain Jaran Desert is known as 'the curves drawn by God', with such beautiful scenery that it takes one's breath away. From the Bilutu sand peak to the pink lakes, each spot is a masterpiece meticulously carved by nature. In summer, the colors of the lakes are even more vivid, making it the best season for a desert exploration trip.
🚤 Recommended Route: From Xining to the Zhangye Danxia landform, then to Alxa Right Banner, and finally to the Badain Jaran Desert, the entire journey not only allows you to experience the magnificence of the desert but also the colorful culture and natural scenery along the way.
📌 Tips: Remember to bring motion sickness medicine, as the desert journey is bumpy; at the same time, carry enough sunscreen to protect your skin from strong sunlight.
Badain Jaran is not only an exploration of the desert but also a purification of the soul. Here, you can let go of worldly worries, engage in the most direct conversation with nature, and experience the rare tranquility and magnificence of life.

Reflection | It has controlled the soul's yearning for freedom
| It has controlled the soul's yearning for freedom. This heart-shaped red salt lake, known as Ulungur Lake, lies quietly in the depths of the Tengger Desert within the territory of Alxa Left Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Mongolians call it 'Ulan Nur', meaning 'Red Lake'. There was a time when Ulungur Lake was obscure, just one of the more than four hundred lakes in the Tengger Desert, silently passing centuries in the depths of the sandy sea. There are many salt lakes in Tengger, with colors of blue, green, yellow... The local Elute Mongolian herders affectionately call them Kuknur, Huhunur, Xilannur, etc. Ulungur Lake was also once unknown, and even when the herders passed by herding camels and sheep, they would only glance at it briefly.
However, the charm of Ulungur Lake lies in its uniqueness. The surrounding terrain is flat, without any sand dunes or other high points, and for hundreds of years, no one had looked down upon this lake from the air. Until one day, a group of donkey friends broke into this desert. They operated drones to take to the sky, and Ulungur Lake, composed of a large irregular lake and several small lakes strung together like pearls, suddenly stunned the world. The snow-like white salt-alkali rock slabs outline countless small pools, and the rose-like gorgeous lake water diffuses among them. Under the sunlight, it reflects a charming luster, like a heart throbbing in the Tengger Desert. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it 'Zhurihe Nur' (Heart Lake).
