Tre Cime di Lavaredo is a popular hiking trail in the Dolomites where you can go up to see the iconic three peaks of this mountain range. The hike is roughly a 10-kilometer loop around the mountain. The entire trail is gorgeous and an easy walk, so don't worry—kids can easily do it too. I actually brought my own child along for the hike! Starting Point You should pin your location to Rifugio Auronzo to park at this mountain hut. There's a massive parking lot right before the trailhead. The parking fee is 30 euros per day. Taking the bus is an option, but it can be quite tricky since the schedule is very limited. Another major highlight you absolutely can't miss is a photo spot inside an old World War-era cave. From there, you can capture a stunning shot of the three peaks framed perfectly by the cave opening—it's incredibly beautiful. Be sure to make the trek up to the cave! It requires an extra hike of about 1 kilometer, but despite the slightly longer distance, it's totally worth it for the amazing photos.

Walking along the promenade in the evening, watching the sunset slowly sink into the Tyrrhenian Sea, with Mount Vesuvius standing silently in the distance, the entire city is bathed in a golden glow. Many locals sat chatting and strolling along the beach, while others leisurely admired the sea view. The tranquil atmosphere made it easy to linger for a long time. Naples may lack the fashion of Milan or the artistic flair of Florence, but it possesses a unique charm. The more you explore it, the more you discover its authentic and captivating side. For me, Naples is not just a city for taking photos and checking off landmarks, but a place worth taking the time to experience. It boasts world-class cuisine, a rich history, warm and welcoming residents, and a vibrant street culture. When I left, what I missed most wasn't just the sea view and delicious pizza, but also the freedom and energy I felt while wandering the streets. If I ever visit Italy again, I will still include Naples in my itinerary, because the city's impact far exceeded my initial expectations.

This time on the Amalfi Coast, I specifically set aside a day to visit Maiori. Compared to Amalfi and Positano, which are always crowded with tourists, Maiori offers a refreshing sense of leisure and tranquility. It lacks the noise, yet boasts the same captivating Mediterranean scenery. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a sweeping coastline, neatly lined beach umbrellas, and colorful buildings built into the hillside, making me naturally want to slow down and truly enjoy a slow journey in Southern Italy. The streets of Maiori aren't overly complicated; taking a stroll along the waterfront promenade lets you easily feel the local rhythm of life. In the morning, there are residents jogging and walking dogs, and the rich aroma of espresso wafts from the cafes. Many people sit outdoors chatting leisurely, without the pressure of rushing through an itinerary or dealing with the crowds of popular attractions. Instead, you can better experience the most authentic side of this coastal town. A few of my favorite things · The seaside promenade is incredibly comfortable Maiori features a wide sandy beach, a rare find on the Amalfi Coast, and strolling along the shore is incredibly relaxing. With the blue ocean paired with the distant mountain views, I wanted to stop and take pictures every few steps. Even just sitting on a bench enjoying the sea view can easily pass an entire afternoon. · Relatively affordable restaurant prices Compared to other popular towns, dining prices in Maiori are much more reasonable. I ordered a plate of fresh tomato pasta paired with a sparkling lemon drink. The ingredients were simple yet full of Southern Italian flavor. Finishing the meal with a scoop of lemon gelato was refreshing and cooling, leaving me with endless aftertastes. · A town perfect for slow exploration There's no need to deliberately arrange a tight itinerary. Just wander slowly through the alleys, and you'll discover many boutique shops, handmade ceramics, lemon products, and small piazzas full of Southern Italian flair. Every corner holds a different surprise. · Unforgettable sunset views As dusk approaches, the setting sun casts its glow over the sea, and the entire sky gradually dyes golden yellow. The waves gently lap against the shore, and the whole town becomes exceptionally quiet. Compared to the lively beach during the day, the sunset hours truly allow you to feel Maiori's romance and charm. Practical travel suggestions · It is recommended to stay for a half to a full day. There's no need to rush to attractions, so you can truly feel the atmosphere of the town. · The summer sun is very strong, so remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. · The seaside restaurants offer great views. It is recommended to avoid peak dining times so you can enjoy the food and sea views more leisurely. · For those who love taking photos, choose the early morning or evening to visit. The light is softer, giving photos more depth. · If time permits, you can arrange to visit nearby towns like Amalfi and Minori together to experience the characteristics of different coastal towns. The biggest reason I love Maiori is that it retains a strong sense of everyday life. There is no overly commercialized atmosphere here, nor are there crowds rushing by; instead, there is more of the daily pace of the residents. Watching fishing boats slowly return to the port, children playing on the beach, and tourists leisurely enjoying the sun, the whole trip makes you feel completely relaxed. Before leaving Maiori, I took one last stroll along the coast. The breeze brushed across the sea, and the only sounds in my ears were the waves and the calls of seagulls. Although it's not as dazzling as Positano, nor as bustling as Amalfi, it is precisely because of this that people can savor the charm of the Southern Italian coast. If you like leisurely travel and hope to stay away from crowded tourist spots, I highly recommend arranging to stay a night in Maiori. Use the slowest pace to appreciate the Amalfi Coast, and I believe this will become the most relaxing and memorable stop of your journey.
