The Greco-Roman Museum

The Greco-Roman Museum is located on El-Mat'haf Street and is a building in the style of a Greek temple. The museum specializes in collecting artifacts and coins from the Greco-Roman period excavated from Alexandria and other regions. The collection includes about 40,000 items dating from the 3rd century BC to the 7th century AD. It fills the gap between the collections of the Egyptian Museum and the Coptic Museum, providing a comprehensive understanding of the art from the 7th century AD to the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire. The museum also houses mummies.
