#springtravel Most people leave Beihai Park once the sun goes down, but they’re missing out on one of Beijing's most romantic scenes! 🌌 As dusk falls, the White Pagoda is bathed in a soft, golden floodlight, reflecting perfectly off the dark, still waters of the lake. 🏯 The crowds thin out, the air cools down, and the park takes on a mysterious, ancient energy. It’s the perfect time for a quiet stroll along the East Bank, where the traditional red lanterns from nearby restaurants start to glow. 🏮 · What to see: The illuminated Five-Dragon Pavilions—they look like glowing jewels floating on the water! 💎 · Vibe: Peaceful, romantic, and cinematic. 🎬 · How to get there: The park stays open until 9:00 PM (last entry at 8:00 PM), so you can easily head here after an early dinner in the nearby Houdai or Shichahai hutongs. 🍜 · Pro Tip: If you're a photographer, bring a tripod! The long-exposure shots of the lighted pagoda against the night sky are legendary. 📸🌌

Still staying at Qiuguo S, then walked past 2 traffic lights to get to this Xiu'er New Beijing Cuisine Roast Duck restaurant. On the way, I met a fellow fan who gave my sister a "senior Masa" gift. I was so touched, thank you to this fellow fan on a bike.
Show your Mayday concert ticket at the restaurant, spend CNY 200 (one meat dish and one vegetable dish is already CNY 200) and get a free roast duck—a whole one! Seasonings and duck bone soup are extra. It's delicious and a great deal! As an out-of-towner, I think it tastes about the same as Siji Minfu.
There's also free ice cream and popcorn.
There's a private room inside specifically for wmls to take photos. My sister found it herself; the server didn't tell me. If you guys go, remember to check the private room for photos. I even left some fan merch there!
Ate and drank my fill, took some photos, off to Beihai Park, then continue at the Bird's Nest tonight!

[Sunrise] This could be Beijing's first high-quality "burn" of the summer! A crystal-clear sky + ample cloud cover will make for a super visual feast.
Viewing time: 4:20 AM–5:00 AM;
🔥Recommended spots:
Visibility is high, so I recommend heading to the mountains, such as Fragrant Hills, Miaofeng Mountain, Zhaojiawa, etc.; if you're in the city, consider open areas like the Palace Museum Corner Tower, Houhai, etc.;
[Sunset] The quality looks a bit lower for now, but the aerosol levels are low. If it does "burn," it's destined to go down in history;
Viewing time: 7:30 PM–8:00 PM;
🔥Recommended spots:
Dongcheng and Xicheng Districts:
Highly recommend the area near Yinding Bridge in Shichahai (the Bell and Drum Towers will be lit up), the Lotus Viewing Area in Beihai Park (on the right after entering the South Gate); followed by Tiananmen Square (book quickly if you haven't already), the Palace Museum Corner Tower, Jingshan Park (the platform near Wanchun Pavilion), etc.;
Haidian District:
Highly recommend the Summer Palace (Zhichun Pavilion, Kunming Lake shore; it's convenient to enter from the East Palace Gate), followed by Yuyuantan Park (East Lake shore), Old Summer Palace, Haidian Park, etc.;
Other recommendations:
Shougang Bridge, Nanyuan Wetland Park, Chaoyang Park, etc.,
P6 and P7 are the 2 high-quality sunrise "burns" I've captured so far this year, on Jan 7 and May 31, respectively;
P8–12 are the 5 high-quality sunset "burns" I've captured so far this year, on Apr 19, May 6, May 31, Jun 3, and Jun 21.
