Brantford: The birthplace of the telephone, a city filled with history, culture, and nature

The Grand River flows from north to south through the city, and Cambridge, just upstream of this river, is directly north of Brantford. There is a spacious urban park in downtown Brantford, named Victoria Park, with THE BRANT MONUMENT, a monument to the first leader who led the Mohawk tribe from northern New York State to this place, standing in the center of the park. The surrounding government public buildings are all classical in style, reflecting the city's prosperity at that time. Brantford is also known as 'telephone city' because Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, invented the first telephone for mankind here in 1874. Bell's former residence has been turned into the Bell Homestead National Historic Site. The Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford Campus is located in the city center, converted from historic old buildings, imbued with the city's strong artistic and cultural atmosphere.
