Durham is a small city tucked away in England's Northeast, boasting a prestigious university, a grand cathedral, an ancient castle, and lovely old bookstores. The best part? It's not crowded, giving it a wonderfully authentic English feel! Highlights of Durham: Durham Cathedral (杜伦大教堂): A filming location for Harry Potter, this cathedral was built in the 11th century and stands as one of Britain's most perfectly preserved Norman buildings. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site – absolutely breathtaking! ✨ Durham University (杜伦大学): The third-oldest university in England, following only Oxford and Cambridge. Many students who don't get into Oxford or Cambridge find their academic home here! I highly recommend wandering around the Palace Green area; it's brimming with an incredible academic atmosphere, and there are even free museums to explore. 🎓 Durham Castle (杜伦城堡): Standing proudly opposite the Cathedral, this too is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's now part of the university; Durham University students can enter for free, while others can visit for just £5. A fascinating glimpse into centuries of history!
