#December Travel Grant Feel the passionate vitality of the desert (4.5/5 stars) The Arid Pyramid was a stark contrast to Edmonton's sub-zero temperatures. While the interior was warm, the humidity was incredibly low, allowing me to experience the dry desert air. It was filled with giant cacti, agaves, and succulents, and their tenacity in surviving the harsh environment was a testament to their resilience. Notably, some of the cacti had faint flowers instead of thorns, adding to the mystique. Observing the diverse shapes and sizes of cacti was an educational experience that brought home a renewed understanding of the Earth's climate and plant diversity. A visit with children would be a wonderful opportunity for nature education.
