The Iconic Cardiff Pumping House, A treasure Trove Of Antiques & Vintage!

If you’re looking for something unique to do in Cardiff or just genuinely love antiques and vintage - you need to visit the old pumping house. Located between Cardiff and penarth this local business is one of the best in the country for its selection of antiques, furniture and vintage toys. The building itself is a slice of history and the interior is made up of various trading stalls dotted around the old pumping house, a lot of original features such as the brickwork, staircases and metal roofing are still visible. There are a few floors of stores and lots of walls are lined with glass cabinets of treasures, it can be quite overwhelming but the staff are very helpful. If you’re looking for something specific let them know when you arrive as they’ll give you a good overview of where to head in the building. If you just want to browse follow the arrows on the floor, just like IKEA there’s a flow system in place to make sure you get to all the hidden areas! If you want to buy something and there is no staff in that area, take a note of the number on the case or a photo of the location and head to reception. They have all the keys for the cases and can make sales if the owners are not there! There’s a small cafe and toilets in the basement and plenty of parking at the front and to the rear.
