Santorini. A luxury but affordable holiday destination. A place of multiple excellent photo spots where your camera drools at its own lens. A holiday destination formed in the 16th century by a volcanic eruption. An island of whitewashed cave-like architecture built into it's cliffs. This island sits over 100 miles south of the greek mainland & maintains it's place as one of the most beautiful places in the world to visit. It certainly sits at the top of my most picturesque & luxurious looking locations. Apart from the touristy spots of Oia & Fira there are other pretty & picture-perfect villages worth visiting like Pyrgos, Megalochori & Ammoudi. Buses transfer tourists around the island or quad bikes can be rented for the more adventurous traveller. Hotel prices can treble during summer but affordable accommodation can be found out of the peak season.
