🌟 Chengdu Mao Cai
The broth has a clean, fragrant taste, not greasy. The side dishes soak up the soup really well; the more you eat, the better it gets, but it's not overwhelmingly spicy. It's the kind you can just keep eating.
🌟 Scallion-stir-fried Angus ribeye
This was the first dish to be cleared from the table.
🌟 Homestyle fried rice
Looks ordinary, but it's actually a solid choice. The rice grains are distinct, not oily, and the kids loved it. It's the kind of dish you order thinking it's nothing special, but it ends up being a hit.
🌟 Non-spicy Kung Pao chicken
Ordered this non-spicy version for the kids~
The chicken is tender, the sauce is on the sweeter side, and the peanuts are fragrant without overpowering the dish. Kids can eat this without worry.
🌟 Purple rice, mochi, and taro paste bowl (must give this a shout-out)
The purple rice + taro paste + mochi are all made fresh. The texture is soft, chewy, and fragrant, but the sweetness is well-controlled. It's not cloying, and it's good enough that I'd come back just for this.
🥤 Drinks
The sparkling water is mixed to order and very refreshing.
The aged white tea has a very authentic flavor and is a great palate cleanser. It feels so good to have a sip after a whole table of food.

Register as a gold member with Hertz China in advance for a 10% discount. For LA accommodation, it’s recommended to stay a bit farther from downtown. Pasadena and Alhambra are both good choices. Choose a safe neighborhood with a garage to prevent car break-ins.

Day 2️⃣ South Palm Drive on Palm Avenue – shopping in Beverly Hills – Santa Monica 🌊 – Sunset Boulevard 7011 Vista Del Mar Ln

Day 3️⃣ Hollywood & Griffith Observatory day tour

Day 4️⃣ LA to Sequoia National Park 🌲 (4h) – stay in Fresno

No signal inside the national park, so remember to download offline maps on Google Maps beforehand.

Route: Sequoia Museum – Big Tree Trail (easy walk) – Tunnel Log – General Sherman Tree. I was worried about time, but five hours was enough to visit these famous viewpoints. Stay in Fresno that night. The next day, Yosemite is a short drive away.

Day 5️⃣ Fresno to Yosemite ⛰️ – stay in Groveland

Yosemite route: Glacier Point – Tunnel View – Bridal Veil Fall – Yosemite Fall – El Capitan. We were especially lucky to see a 🐻 that day.

Say goodbye to the mountains and head to Silicon Valley in California. Visited Apple and Google headquarters, and Stanford.

Day 7️⃣ Round trip from San Jose to San Francisco 🌁

San Francisco highlights: Lombard Street, Fisherman’s Wharf Pier, classic Golden Gate Bridge viewpoints

Day 8️⃣ Officially start Highway 1 🚗

Depart from San Jose, stay in Monterey. Checked out Black Gold McDonald’s, then went to Carmel for food and shopping. Carmel town is very beautiful.

Many unbeatable ocean view viewpoints along the way, stopping frequently.

Strolled and had lunch in Santa Barbara during the day, then returned to LA in the afternoon. The drive was beautiful.

今天想和大家分享的這家其實也不算是新店,
但是他們的brunch菜單是新的~這家店原本是一家sports bar,現在他們也開始做brunch了~出乎我意料的是,他們的味道也很不錯👌

說說我們點的菜式吧:

1⃣️Avocado toast🥑

牛油果吐司顏值挺高的,
用的是全麥麵包,吐司烤得很脆,
我還額外加了三文魚~他們的食材很新鮮,
味道也不錯,份量也挺大的,
點睛之筆是加入了一下辣椒醬🌶️,
吃起來很有層次

2⃣️Shakshouka🍅🍳

北非蛋源自中東地區的brunch,
你可以理解成是brunch版本的“番茄炒蛋”,
但是這家店的味道更為複雜,因為加入了不少香料~
口味偏酸,但是我很喜歡👌
番茄泥上的雞蛋是水波蛋,半生半熟的,
他們家配的饢搭配著吃,饢也烤得特別好吃,
但建議share,因為份量是真的大~

3⃣️漢堡🍔

這個就過得去吧,沒太大特色,
漢堡該有的味道,但值得一提的是,
搭配的炸薯粒是真的不錯的👍非常香脆

4⃣️雞尾酒🍹

我們盲選了店員推的兩款,我覺得Mimosas必點啊!
他們家的是Mimosas cube,把果汁做成了大冰塊🧊,
直接把酒倒下去,慢慢融化慢慢喝,超讚的,
我們試了橙子味和桃子味的,我覺得兩款都不錯~

but their brunch menu is! This place used to be a sports bar, and now they've started serving brunch too! Surprisingly, the food is quite good! 👌

It's made with whole wheat bread, and the toast was perfectly crispy.

I also added salmon. Their ingredients were very fresh,

and the taste was great. The portion was also quite generous.

The finishing touch was the addition of chili sauce🌶️, which added a lot of layers of flavor.

Shakshouka originates from Middle Eastern brunch.

You could think of it as a brunch version of "scrambled eggs with tomatoes,"

but the flavor here is more complex because it incorporates... Lots of spices!

The flavor is on the sour side, but I really liked it 👌

The egg on top of the tomato puree was poached, half-cooked.

Their side dish of naan bread was also delicious, grilled perfectly.

But I recommend sharing, because the portion is really huge!

It had the typical burger flavor, but it's worth mentioning that

the accompanying fried fries were really good 👍 Very crispy.

We ​​blindly chose two recommended by the staff, and I think Mimosas is a must-order!

Their drink is called Mimosas Cube, which is basically fruit juice turned into giant ice cubes 🧊.

You just pour the drink in, and it melts slowly, so you can enjoy it slowly – it's amazing!

這裡有很出片的裝置藝術可以打卡,也有一些很cool的戶外用品店,中古店和本地潮人的自創品牌服飾~也有一些不錯的cafe🥰

一個匯集了戶外品牌、設計師品牌和創意家品的店,裝修都好戶外風👍有不少大家熟悉的品牌都可以在這裡找到,像是Patagonia 始祖鳥、jelly cat這些~

這家是由一個超級潮的日本老奶奶開的店,這個店每次我來內飾都不一樣,太cool了!除了出售好看的乾花,店內還有很多日系裝飾,也有店名同款的衣服、帽子,價格偏貴,但是都十分好看👍

The CAMP in Costa Mesa has been a favorite of mine since my school days! I really love hanging out here! It’s niche and artsy, with plenty of trendy eateries. Although it’s not very big, you can also explore The LAB Anti-Mall right across the street, making it a great half-day outing option 👍 It’s been a while since I last went, and I recently discovered some new shops have opened up. Taking advantage of the weekend, I’m sharing it with you all~

There are some super photogenic art installations to check out, cool outdoor gear shops, vintage stores, and local trendy brands created by local designers~ Plus, some nice cafes 🥰

1⃣️ Boba Guys - an old favorite! Haha, I’ve been drinking it from the Bay Area all the way to OC. Back when there weren’t many trendy milk tea shops, it was my white moonlight~ Sometimes when I’m in OC, I can’t help but order a cup~

2⃣️ WIP - work in progress - I think this is the best cafe in OC. They use great beans, but try not to order weird flavors. I love their latte; it’s rich and flavorful 👍

The CAMP in Costa Mesa has been a favorite of mine since my school days! I really love hanging out here! It’s niche and artsy, with plenty of trendy eateries. Although it’s not very big, you can also explore The LAB Anti-Mall right across the street, making it a great half-day outing option 👍 It’s been a while since I last went, and I recently discovered some new shops have opened up. Taking advantage of the weekend, I’m sharing it with you all~

There are some super photogenic art installations to check out, cool outdoor gear shops, vintage stores, and local trendy brands created by local designers~ Plus, some nice cafes 🥰

1⃣️ Boba Guys - an old favorite! Haha, I’ve been drinking it from the Bay Area all the way to OC. Back when there weren’t many trendy milk tea shops, it was my white moonlight~ Sometimes when I’m in OC, I can’t help but order a cup~

2⃣️ WIP - work in progress - I think this is the best cafe in OC. They use great beans, but try not to order weird flavors. I love their latte; it’s rich and flavorful 👍

The views here are expansive, and the lakeside scenery is fresh and pleasant, making it perfect for a brief escape from the city's hustle and bustle and enjoying some peaceful alone time.
It's recommended to go at 8 AM when there are fewer visitors and the sunlight is gentle, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquility of the lakeside. It's ideal for both unwinding and soothing your mind and body. The trail is family-friendly and pet-friendly, making it easy and enjoyable for walking kids and dogs.
The complete loop around the lake takes about 45 to 60 minutes to walk at a relaxed, non-tiring pace. If you just want a simple stroll, a half-loop to the tennis courts and back only takes 30 minutes, which is perfect for a light recreational walk. The trail surface is flat, making the entire walk easy and stress-free, and suitable for people of all ages to enjoy a leisurely outing.
