Simple temple style vegetarian lunch set in a nice setting This vegetarian cafe is located in the Arashiyama area. It's a bit far from the train stations, but if you are exploring the temples in the northern part of Arashiyama (e.g. Gio-ji, Seiryo-ji), this is a great stop for lunch or tea. It's less than 200 m from the west entrance of Seiryo-ji temple. It's a small place with a simple decor looking into a small garden -- very nice ambiance. There is only one lunch set on the menu, and a few tea snacks. There is no English menu, just tell the owner you want the "vegetarian lunch set" or the "Shyojin Ryori" set. If you approach from the west, it may looked closed as the door facing the street is hoarded up. There's actually another side door. It's a delightful cafe that makes a great stop for lunch or tea if you are exploring the northern part of Arashiyama.
