Ge'Nyen Mountain: The 'Europe of Tibet'

Ge'Nyen Mountain in Litang, often referred to as the 'Europe of Tibet,' is absolutely stunning. The atmosphere here gives off a very European vibe, and the weather can get quite cold at night. We visited at the end of September, and while snow had started to appear on the peaks, it hadn't yet fallen or covered the area. Traveling there involves a 2-hour drive from Litang city. Along the way, we stopped to camp, cook some instant noodles, and enjoy a cup of tea amidst the grasslands. After a short break, we continued driving to the hiking starting point. The hike itself is about 4 kilometers uphill, with most of the path being rocky. It's recommended to wear hiking or trail shoes. The air gets thinner as you ascend, with an altitude of 4,400 meters making it easier to feel fatigued. At the summit, you'll find an ancient Tibetan monastery over a thousand years old, which is both beautiful and serene. The total distance for the hike, including the return, is 8.5 kilometers.
