🌸 One of London’s Most Underrated Afternoon Tea Spots

If you’re looking for a truly magical afternoon tea in London, this seasonal experience at Roast Restaurant inside Borough Market’s Floral Hall deserves a spot on your list.

For a limited time, the restaurant has been transformed into a breathtaking floral garden, with cascading wisteria, colourful flowers and giant butterflies covering almost every corner. It honestly feels like stepping into a fairytale.

I tried their Butterfly in the Meadow Afternoon Tea, starting from ÂŁ59 per person, and I was genuinely impressed not just by the decorations, but by the food too.

Our afternoon tea included:

🥪 Pulled pork brioche roll
🐟 Smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich
🥩 Roast beef & horseradish sandwich
🥚 Roast signature Scotch egg
🥐 Signature sausage roll
🥩 Braised beef croquette
🌹 Roast rose signature dessert
🥥 Coconut & passionfruit cheesecake
🍯 London honey délice
🍓 Freshly baked scones served with jam & clotted cream

We also ordered one of their beautiful butterfly-inspired drinks, which matched the whole floral theme perfectly.

📍 Roast Restaurant
Floral Hall, Borough Market, London

🚇 Nearest station: London Bridge (2-minute walk)

💡 Travel Tip: Try to book a window table a few weeks in advance, especially on weekends. After afternoon tea, spend some time exploring Borough Market or take a walk along the Thames towards Tower Bridge, it’s one of my favourite routes in London.

Have you tried this seasonal afternoon tea yet? 🌸🦋

June in London feels like a gentle postcard coming to life. The city is wrapped in soft sunlight, long golden evenings, and a refreshing breeze that makes every walk feel unhurried. This is the perfect season to slow down and truly enjoy the moment.

I spent my days exploring charming streets filled with classic British architecture and hidden cafés. From freshly baked pastries in cozy bakeries to modern street food markets serving global flavors, London is a paradise for food lovers. Every meal feels like a small discovery, whether it’s a warm scone with tea or a vibrant dish in Borough Market.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the Natural History Museum. Standing beneath the giant dinosaur skeletons and admiring the stunning architecture felt both inspiring and surreal. It’s a place where curiosity naturally awakens, reminding you how vast and beautiful the world is.

London in June is not just a destination, but a feeling—full of light, culture, taste, and wonder.

🥖🍟 Borough Market – London’s Foodie Wonderland!
Craving a true taste of London? Borough Market rolls out a sensory feast, where you’re welcomed by the aroma of freshly-baked bread and instantly tempted by queues of locals waiting for legendary fish and chips. This open-air market bursts with colors, flavors, and urban vibes—a culinary playground you won’t forget.

🗺️ Route & Must-Dos:
Start your foodie adventure at the artisanal bread stands—grab a crusty loaf and savor that irresistible scent. Head to the famous fish and chips stall (yes, the queue is worth it!), then wander to the nut vendors for home-grown treats, the pizza stands for piping-hot slices, and the fresh seafood corners. Don't miss the fruit and veg displays—snap a pic when sunlight hits the stalls for that vibrant market energy!

📸 Top Photo Spots:
Capture close-up shots of floral bouquets, colorful produce, bustling vendor action, and the market’s Victorian architecture. Indoor stalls offer beautiful backgrounds, while outdoor angles give you that “London-life” authenticity—especially on a sunny day.

🕘 Practical Tips:
Check opening hours: Tuesday-Friday 10:00–17:00, Saturday 09:00–17:00, Sunday 10:00–16:00 (closed Mondays outside December). Arrive early to beat crowds and snag the freshest bites. Go cashless—most stalls prefer card payment now. Bring your own tote bag for eco-friendly shopping.

⚠️ Precautions:
Watch your bags in busy areas; the market can get crowded. Some stalls close before official hours if they sell out—plan your must-eats first!
