The name of the temple comes from the 100,000 kip donated as the initial capital. It has undergone two renovations: the first in 1932 and the second in 1957. The temple features gilded designs by Luang Prabang craftsmen in the 20th century. The temple is a Vientiane-style temple, with a tall, layered roof similar to that of Luang Prabang, and a central roof like that of Xieng Kwang. The pillars are octagonal, with lotus-petal spires. The temple is decorated with gold leaf on a red background. Inside, there are images of past Buddhas, footprints, and a chedi. The highlight of the temple is the large standing Buddha image, the only one of its kind in Luang Prabang.
