Created for the grandchildren of the DuPont family, this special space, unlike the other quiet, historic areas of the gardens, is filled with elements that spark children's imaginations. Hidden within nature are artistic installations for children to touch and explore, including an Alice in Wonderland-inspired treehouse, mushroom-shaped tables and chairs, and a secret cave. Kids will want to spend at least an hour or two here, so be sure to factor this into your overall itinerary. We scheduled Enchanted Woods for later in the afternoon, but the kids spent so much time there that we had to rush to make it to the mansion tour. Therefore, it's a more efficient way to explore the main part of the gardens in the morning, then visit Enchanted Woods when the kids are more energetic. This beautiful work of art, even for adults, is a great way to recharge your batteries.
