Is Pamukkale really worth visiting?

Two most nerve-wracking things about going to Turkey… 1. Whether you can successfully catch a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia 2. Whether there will be water in Pamukkale on the day you go 🤣 I was quite lucky; there happened to be water in one area on the day I went. Because the amount of hot spring water has decreased in recent years, the authorities implement "planned water supply." This is why you often see Pamukkale with only dry white terraces. I suggest arriving outside the park early in the morning to wait for entry. If the weather is good, you might also catch the hot air balloons taking off! If your clockwise Turkey itinerary is Istanbul → Cappadocia → Pamukkale, I really recommend keeping the hot air balloon ride in Pamukkale as a "backup plan." If you miss the ride in Cappadocia, at least you can fulfill your wish to ride a hot air balloon in Turkey at Pamukkale! Moreover, Pamukkale is not just about the travertine terraces. Right next to it is the ancient city of Hierapolis, which includes: a large theater, ancient Roman baths, the Temple of Apollo, and a massive, very impressive necropolis. In summary, I think Pamukkale is still worth a visit. Even if you don’t encounter the sparkling water-filled terraces, the millennia-old white terraces are still stunningly beautiful 🥹
