Pepper Plantations - Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Phu Quoc is well-known for pepper, especially red pepper. The heat and spice of Phu Quoc pepper is very special. Pepper plantations are literally everywhere, and there are especially many of them in the central and northern parts of Phu Quoc Island. It was interesting to see how farmers climb ladders on two-meter trees and manually pick the fruits. The drying process is also quite interesting - huge canvases with berries scattered over them resemble the earth from a bird's eye view. The largest plantations are located in the town of Khu Tuong, which is a few kilometers from the capital. Visiting the farm is usually free, and you can buy ground pepper or peppercorns as a souvenir.
