Old San Juan, a fairytale town by the Caribbean Sea

Old San Juan is the core tourist area of Puerto Rico, made up of blue cobblestone streets and colorful colonial buildings. There are many highlights, including Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th-century coastal fortress with stunning views. From the fortress, you can walk down to the seaside on a 30-minute trail that leads directly to the Old Town commercial street, allowing you to experience the spectacular waves up close. The lawn outside the fortress is a popular spot for watching sunsets and flying kites, making it very pleasant to return here after exploring the old town. Calle De La Fortaleza is the most famous street in San Juan, decorated with colorful umbrellas (decorations may change seasonally), perfect for photos. Capilla del Santo Cristo is the quietest and most beautiful plaza in the old town, home to many pigeons; you can buy pigeon feed for $2 per pack.
