Gimlet at Cavendish House in Exeter is a standout destination that continues to shine on the city's dining scene. I really enjoy dining out but even the best restaurants are a shit time if you don't have good company. So I feel pretty lucky to have shared some excellent meals with my nearest and dearest. Reuben's Deli Cafe Exeter

Came here for lunch as I had read about it in a few publications. First impression was that the fit out was quite amazing, I loved the blue & white colour motif. Onto the food, I got a half pastrami on rye and a Rueben. Reuben's is a slice of New York in Armadale. There are classic cold and hot sandwiches on offer. It is also a legitimate deli where you can buy meat by the kilo and take home meals. It’s a big call but I think this is the best Rueben around. It’s small but the meat is thick and juicy and served with rye and mustard and sauerkraut, hitting all the marks of a good pastrami sandwich. The chicken schnitzel roll is also good and the cookies are standout. Tahini white chocolate and brown butter chocolate chip were both winners. We stopped in for the eponymous Reuben on Rye. For our first dinner out as a family, it had to be one of our perrenial favourites- Marion. The food is solid, whether its the seafood small plates or the more substantial mains. You also can't go passed the baked pasta. The drinks list is killer. I'm pretty sure they share a cellar with next door sister venue- Cutler & Co. We're partial to their cocktail and vermouth selection. Service amazing from start to finish. I booked 3 weeks out & could only get bench seating. But we were seated at kitchen so had full view of the kitchen which was entertaining! Atmosphere was fantastic. And where to begin with the food. Octopus toast stand out, but tiny, so order more than one. Vodka pasta sensational. Whole flounder was an absolute delight. Also ordered cold dish entrees of mussels, which was exceptional. Comfort and reasonable

This is the new hotel in the Exeter city. It can go to anywhere easily for example Lloyd’s Lounge, Tesco, M&S, Guild Hall. It’s very convenient for travel because it’s near the Exeter Centre station. Moreover, the room size is big and the bed is so soft. Staff is so nice and friendly. It will open the spa at the new year. That’s interesting. I would like to come this hotel again and go to spa room.
