This is a 5-star Intercontinental hotel on the main island of Tahiti, where the international airport is located. It is usually difficult to go to Bora Bora or Moorea right after arriving at the airport, so it is recommended to stay on the main island for about a night and then go. This hotel has many great things to see.

We stayed for two nights at the beginning and end of our trip to Tahiti, Borabora and Raiatea. It was ideal for a late night arrival as only 5 minutes from airport which was great especially with two tired kids. Our room was huge and immaculate. Very luxurious and comfortable. The grounds are stunning with a beautiful view of Moorea to welcome you to Tahiti. Great pool which the kids loved. Awesome breakfast buffet - the restaurant is right over the coral reef and you could see tropical fish while having breakfast. By the end of our trip we were tired of hotel food but there is a supermarket directly over the road which is fantastic. We returned to the Hilton for two nights before we left Tahiti which allowed us to check out the markets which are close by and relax a bit more. We splashed out and had a suite with two rooms and a kitchen which was expensive but worth it. We were a bit tired of hotel food by the end of our trip but there is a supermarket over the road which is fantastic and it was a lot lot cheaper than eating in the restaurant. If you are heading to one of the resorts it would be handy to stock up on some snacks as resort eating is delicious but very expensive. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. As a Hilton Diamond Member who has visited countless Hilton restaurants, I can confidently say this was the best one yet. The seafood dinner was absolutely amazing, matched by equally impressive service. The outdoor seating, overlooking the ocean, offered a stunning view filled with large sea turtles, a variety of fish, crabs, and even an octopus.

We stayed for one night due to the Air Tahiti pilots' strike, and this hotel is absolutely stunning. It helped ease our frustration after our flight to Fakarava was canceled. The room was very beautiful, the pool was splendid, and the dinner was excellent. However, the only downside was the breakfast service at the bar in the morning. People who arrived after us were served first, and when I reminded them of our presence, they brought the wrong order. It took over an hour to get 2 coffees, 2 egg muffins, and 2 fruit salads!

Once again, we chose the InterContinental Tahiti to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and our stay was absolutely flawless. The entire establishment and staff made this moment magical. The Room: Spotless and impeccably clean, as always. The Cake in Room: A heartfelt thanks for the delicious cake left in our room—such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched us! Room Service: Impeccable, responsive, and highly professional service. The Tiki Bar: Kudos to the team for always nailing our favorite cocktail, the Passion des Îles. Te Tiare Restaurant: Our nightly go-to, where the quality and warm welcome never waver. Special Mention: We want to express our deep gratitude to Lucien from Te Tiare. His thoughtful gestures during the birthday dinner warmed our hearts. My daughter was overjoyed and deeply touched. The team truly went above and beyond. My husband and I stayed here, and overall this hotel did not disappoint. We had a lot of fun! There was plenty of entertainment included, which was a great bonus since most activities weren’t an extra charge. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we loved seeing all the natural wildlife throughout the property. It really added to the experience. The only downside was the food. The buffets were quite expensive, and unfortunately the quality didn’t match the price. We also experienced some construction during our stay, which was a bit disruptive at times. Even with those drawbacks, we still enjoyed our visit and appreciated the beautiful setting and all the activities the resort had to offer.

Great hotel not far from the airport in Tahiti. A large property with stunning grounds, plenty of rooms, and overwater bungalows. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Prices were quite reasonable for Tahiti. We stayed just one night since we were en route to the airport from Bora Bora—but it was so lovely that we wished we had stayed longer! It’s truly a resort!

Spent our final night on the island of Tahiti at the Hilton, a hotel perfectly located between the cruise dock and the airport. We were fortunate to enjoy dinner at the Italian restaurant in the hotel, where the cuisine was excellent, and the staff was incredibly attentive and kind. We were pleasantly surprised with a personalized dessert from the service and kitchen to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! We stayed at the Hilton Tahiti for one night after leaving Bora Bora, and the experience felt very underwhelming in comparison. I’d rate it 3.5 stars overall, rounded up to 4. While it’s not a five-star experience, it’s a reasonable four-star property. We paid around $1,400 for two rooms for one night, which didn’t feel like a $700-per-room experience. The pool area was pleasant, although the drinks cost about $25 each. Unfortunately, there’s no actual beach—just a rocky shoreline—which was disappointing. Our rooms were comfortable and generally nice, with decent ocean views, but nothing spectacular. The balconies appeared dated and could benefit from renovation. Additionally, we were quoted a $236 fee per room for a late checkout past 11:00 a.m. I understand late checkouts aren’t always complimentary, though I’ve been spoiled by the complimentary 4:00 p.m. checkouts at many Marriott properties. Dinner at the hotel restaurant the night before also suffered from terrible service, which I’ve detailed in a separate review. Overall, Hilton Tahiti was acceptable for a short stopover, but felt heavily overpriced for what it offered.

Beautiful resort with incredible staff. The lagoon is filled with fish and coral, plus turtles. There’s a nice selection of restaurants offering great food, though the service was inconsistent on some nights. Multiple pools to enjoy, including a swim-up bar.

We arrived in Papeete in the evening from the US and stayed here our first night before heading to Bora Bora the next day. That night, we had a Garden View room in what seemed to be a newer section of the resort, which was very comfortable—a perfect spot to rest after our travels. The next morning, we enjoyed Sunday brunch featuring a dance performance, which far exceeded the Kona Hawaii luau experience we attended a few years ago. The performers were fantastic, with about 40 minutes of dancing, multiple costume changes, and a photo opportunity at the end. After Bora Bora, we booked a two-night stay since our departing flight wasn’t until after 9 PM, and we didn’t want to sit in the lobby for hours, which would’ve been the case even with a day pass. This time, the room felt like it was in an older or less updated part of the resort. The bed was extremely firm, and we couldn’t lower the temperature below 20°C or reduce the humidity. We were “upgraded” to a Moorea View room, but the view was only visible if you looked 90 degrees to the side from the balcony. Overall, it didn’t feel like the upgrade improved our stay. At check-in, we were given two free drink vouchers for being IHG members, which was a nice touch. The check-in and check-out staff were outstanding—welcoming and helpful. The grounds were beautiful, and the on-site restaurants offered food that was above average for hotel dining. While it’s unlikely we’ll return to this area of the world, I’d definitely stay here again if we ever did.

This is an excellent place to begin and end your journey. We stayed three days in an overwater bungalow, then spent 11 days on a 50-foot catamaran before returning for two nights in a king-size ocean view room. The staff is incredible, the views are stunning, and the food is fantastic. I'd definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The hotel is massive but very spread out (no high-rise buildings). Access to the airport is under 10 minutes, which is very convenient for early flights. We stayed here twice — once for a night before heading to the Marquesas, and again for three nights upon returning. During our first visit, I opted for the overwater bungalow. It’s pricey, but for one night, I thought, “you only live once.” I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t do it again. It’s unique, charming, cute, and comfortable, but not worth the price. I’ve experienced much better elsewhere for less.

The most convenient route from Bora Bora to Moorea turned out to be this: first, a flight to Tahiti (as we used to get to Bora Bora), and then a ferry to Moorea. ✈️ Bora Bora → Tahiti The flight takes about 50 minutes. If you can get a window seat, don't miss it – the views of the Bora Bora lagoon on departure are just as impressive as on landing. These flights are usually open seating – just board the plane and choose any available seat! ⛴ Tahiti → Moorea From the airport, travel to the port of Papeete, from where ferries depart regularly. The main carriers are Aremiti and Terevau. Tickets start at 1350 XPF (approximately €11) one-way, and the journey takes 40-50 minutes. We used Aremiti and bought tickets before departure – no complications. You can also fly, but the flight only takes about 15 minutes and costs about five times more than the ferry. In our opinion, there's no real point in overpaying; the only convenience is not having to travel from the airport to the port. 🚢 The ferry itself was a pleasant surprise: spacious cabins, open decks, an onboard cafe, and a very beautiful interior. The trip turned out to be more than just a transfer between islands, but an additional part of the journey. So, my advice: if you're not pressed for time, choose the ferry. This is a decent hotel, especially for an in-transit stop in or out of Papeete. Personally, I prefer the Intercontinental, which is a comparable distance from the airport, but the choice between the two is quite close. The Hilton seems a bit newer, though it lacks a beach and overwater bungalows. We stayed at the Intercontinental upon arrival and chose the Hilton for our departure. However, I wouldn’t recommend this as a vacation destination hotel. It's definitely worthwhile to take the ferry to Moorea and stay at the Hilton there, which is very nice.

The Hilton was perfect for our three-day visit. As a Diamond member, I felt appreciated, and the included breakfast by the water was delightful. The staff was consistently welcoming and friendly. The hotel is conveniently walkable to the city and directly connected to a mall and grocery store. We highly recommend the full-day island tour—it’s truly stunning. Although there’s no beach, the pool is excellent, and the fitness room is decent. The restaurant prices are high, but the food, especially the fresh sushi and tasty chorizo pizza, was worth it. I’d gladly stay here again!

Seated in a corner on the patio with a view overlooking Mo'orea really set the tone. The portions are generous. The curry shrimp was the table favorite! Order the Mai Tai or Hibiscus drink to complement.

Although swimming in the sea wasn’t an option, we enjoyed this hotel for its location and the stunning view from our room. However, be prepared for high prices, such as the Sunday breakfast offered to us at XPF 9,000 per person (around €75). We opted instead to have breakfast at the café in the shopping center across from the hotel for under XPF 1,000.

I can’t express enough how much I love this place! The hospitality is second to none—everyone is so kind and professional. I truly have nothing bad to say. I wish I could list all the names of those who helped us, but it was honestly everyone. We dined at "San Sushi" for dinner and "Moevai" for breakfast—both were perfect 10/10 experiences.

The hotel was underwhelming. It’s too large to provide personalized service or the feeling of being in Polynesia. It felt more suited for a one-night stay before heading to more captivating islands. That said, the views of Moorea are breathtaking! I stayed in a Premium Ocean View on the ground floor, but the room overlooked the garden and lacked privacy—it really didn’t deserve the premium label. I requested a change, but they said it was impossible, despite plenty of availability. The restaurant was decent with good service, but it lacked a paradise-like vibe. The pool was beautiful and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Tahiti. Several aspects were exceptional. The stunning sunset views, the pool, the service, the entertainment, and the San restaurant all warrant a perfect score. In fact, our best meal in Tahiti was at the San. The breakfast area is lovely, but the fruit is often covered with bugs. Sometimes the food gets refilled quickly, though other times it doesn’t. Nohea in the breakfast area always greeted us with a smile and remembered our coffee order from day one – she’s truly outstanding. The lounge offerings left us disappointed, especially since they charge $150 for access if you’re not a diamond member. Another letdown was the inability to stream or cast content to the TV. On the positive side, our room was comfortable and spacious, and the refrigerator worked perfectly. One day, our room didn’t get serviced as we had been in it most of the time. However, after asking for towels on the way to dinner, we were pleasantly surprised to find the room beautifully serviced when we returned. The concierge was extremely nice and helpful throughout our stay. Just be prepared for dining prices – they are on the higher side, as is typical for tropical resort areas.

This beautiful hotel offers every comfort and is conveniently located between the airport and the harbour—don’t let that deter you. The pool overlooking the lagoon is absolutely delightful, especially with the breathtaking sunset views. The weekend brunch is highly recommended, as are the restaurants. Jessica was especially lovely in the Italian restaurant.

From the bungalow room to the thoughtful gestures of the entire team, we were truly pampered. The breakfast offered a diverse selection, including eggs prepared on the spot by the chef. We tried the canoe breakfast—it's a delightful tradition you must experience 👍 Multiple pools, various dining options, lively bars and pool bars, plus countless cozy relaxation spots await you. The staff were absolutely wonderful! Despite arriving on an early morning flight and it being far too early to check in, they were very accommodating. They allowed us to store our bags and use one of the Transit Rooms to shower and recharge before exploring the island. The concept of Transit Rooms is fantastic—it was such a treat to freshen up after a long flight. Amazingly, our room was ready by 10 AM, far exceeding our expectations. We were delighted to find a bottle of champagne awaiting us in our room. Our Intercontinental Ambassador status was acknowledged multiple times, even with a personalized placard at our restaurant table. The property itself is stunning, featuring enormous pools and a Lagoonarium filled with colorful fish. The views of Moorea, especially at sunset from the pool, were breathtaking, and we really enjoyed the large balcony attached to our room. Though we only stayed for one night to rest before heading to another island, the experience was absolutely memorable!

We stayed for two nights starting on the 6th and returned for one night on the 17th, both in a classic room on the top floor. Our rooms, 373 and 372, were located next door to each other on the 3rd floor. Check-in was smooth, and we received a free drinks voucher as IHG members. The rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with slippers, robes, and a safe. Breakfast service, however, was disappointing. On the first morning, arriving late meant it was quiet and manageable. But the second morning was chaotic due to a large conference or tour group/cruise staying. Ordering an omelette was problematic as they required a table number, and ours didn’t have one. After waiting over 20 minutes for an incorrect omelette, we gave up due to dietary requirements and time constraints. Lack of food allergy labeling was especially disappointing for an Intercontinental hotel, and the staff seemed more focused on catering to the large group. The location is isolated, with nothing within walking distance—not even a supermarket—although it’s only a 10-minute drive from the airport. We enjoyed a west coast half-day tour, which was excellent. The hotel grounds were lovely, and if not for the breakfast issues, we would’ve given a 4-star rating instead of a 3.
