Dolomites Journey: Day 3 Hiking in the Funes Valley Waking up early and opening the window, I was surprised to find a sea of clouds, so I immediately went out to take some pictures. There was no one on the road, few cars, and the air was super good, making me feel so relaxed here. After breakfast, we set out to hike the Funes Valley, where the typical European natural scenery unfolds: distant mountains and dense forests reaching into the sky, tender green meadows stretching as far as the eye can see, with wooden huts built like blocks in the center of the meadows, and the most eye-catching spot on the slope is a church, the abode of the soul. Although we came in the morning and didn't see the light of the Alps under the sunset, the scenery with the mist swirling around was also very beautiful, The fourth picture is the most famous photo spot in the town, but unfortunately, there was fog, and it was early in the morning, so the photo was not very ideal tips: Funes Valley is a valley under the highest peak of the Dolomites, the Geisler Peak, located in the Dolomite region of Italy. We visited the Trulli's in Alberobello last July and this was a highlight of our entire trip to Puglia. These small white stone buildings with their domed stone roofs are a treasure to behold. We were truly impressed with how well these old buildings have held up and been maintained through the centuries. Clean and freshly whitewashed, they almost appear as if they had been recently constructed. Invited to visit inside, we were amazed at the details of the brickwork forming the arched separations between the small rooms and the interior design and structure of the domed roofs. The number of these Trullis - an entire village of them - was also surprising. Heeding this advice, the team began to conceptualize the design for the Marine Education Center at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. In 2005, the previous Center was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. A second storm impacted the site during schematic design, and a third, Hurricane Nate, hit during construction. It was clear — the new facility would need to be resilient, sustainable and durable. . The Center exemplifies sustainable coastal building techniques in harmony with the marine environment. The use of wood was a primary focus of the design to unite the Center to the adjacent pine flatwood forest. . The team consulted with biologists and site ecologists to assess the flora and fauna in three pre-determined zones, ultimately choosing the building zone with the least sensitive ecosystem, access to open water, and suitable building elevation to protect the buildings in the event of a natural disaster. Considering natural disasters and durability, the design focused on using and maintaining the land to serve as the first line of defense. . Low impact materials were selected for the health of occupants and to avoid ocean contamination in the event of a natural disaster. White oak was used primarily on the interiors for millwork and accent paneling, and southern yellow pine was chosen for primary structures. It was December 1st , 2017. A week before that day I had prepared everything i needed for my holiday. Yes, i was about to have a long holiday. I went to the station at 7 A.M. The train was scheduled to arrive at 7.30 A.M. At that station, I bought the ticket to go to Palembang. It took around 7 hours to go to Palembang from Lampung by train. I arrived at Palembang at 2.30 P.M. I was free to do anything in this city because i didn’t plan to go certain places here except for Gelora Jakabaring Stadium. At first, I went directly to the stadium by bus. I saw so many people in the stadium. I just walked and sometimes stopped to buy merchandise around the stadium. I was there until 5 P.M. Being so tired and hungry, then i went to a hotel. I spent my first night there by taking a rest. I did many things and visited almost all of the momentous places along my journey there. I really like Palembang which is also known as “The City of Empek-Empek”. That was my secound tour in Palembang. It was really memorable.
