6tips for traveling in Japan in AUTUMN
Are you traveling to Japan for the first time? Here are six travel tips that I have organized for you. Click here to check them out. 😊
1. 💱 Currency Exchange: In Japan, many businesses only accept Japanese yen, so it's best to exchange some money into yen before your departure. You can do this at the airport, banks, or hotel front desks. However, it's advisable not to exchange too much at the airport or hotels, as the exchange rates may not be very favorable.
2. 🚅 Purchase JR Pass: If you plan to travel to multiple cities in Japan, buying a JR Pass is a good option. The JR Pass allows you to ride trains operated by JR Railway Company nationwide, including high-speed trains, and the price is cheaper compared to buying individual tickets.
3. 🚇 Taking the Subway: Japan's subway system is highly developed but can be complex. Before taking the subway, it's best to check maps and routes in advance to avoid getting lost.
4. 🙏 Observe Etiquette: Japanese people place a strong emphasis on etiquette, so it's important to be mindful of your behavior in public places. For example, avoid being loud or rowdy on the subway or train, refrain from eating while walking on the streets, and avoid taking photos indiscriminately.
5. 🍴 Dining: Japan has a rich food culture, but there are also certain things to be mindful of. For example, before a meal, it's customary to use a hot towel to clean your hands, avoid pointing at others with chopsticks, and refrain from blowing on your food to cool it down.
6. 👔 Dressing: Japanese people pay attention to dressing appropriately, so it's best to dress modestly when traveling to Japan. For example, when visiting temples or shrines, it's recommended to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts and avoid wearing sandals or flip-flops.

Weekend getaway in this ancient city
We took a weekend trip to Kyoto from Osaka and stayed here for 1 night.
The trip brought us many surprises about the beautiful architecture of Kyoto. We love walking up the slopes to Sannenkaza and discovered those small hidden lanes in this Gion region.
We were fortunate to catch the golden sunset on the beautiful Kiyomizu dera Temple.
Will highly recommend everyone to visit Kyoto at least once to experience Japan culture.

Kyoto Eorzea cafe ff14
friends and I visited the pop up Kyoto final fantasy Eorzea cafe.
we loved that the cafe was Stormblood themed and the food was more seafood based. I am sad the pop up is closing soon as I would have loved to return again in future.
the capsule hotel is also Final Fantasy 14 themed and everyone who stays revives an exclusive keychain. as tempted as I was to book a room for the keychain...i was only in Kyoto for a day trip and the room would have gone to waste.

Tokyo Disneyland is a magical destination that offers an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. To make the most of your trip, here are five essential tips to keep in mind:
1. Plan Ahead: Tokyo Disneyland can get crowded, especially during weekends and holidays. To avoid long queues, plan your visit on weekdays if possible. Additionally, make use of the FastPass system to reserve your spot for popular attractions in advance.
2. Get There Early: Arriving early is key to maximizing your time at Tokyo Disneyland. The park opens at 8:00 AM, but guests often start lining up well before that. By arriving early, you can beat the crowds and enjoy shorter wait times for popular rides.
3. Download the Tokyo Disneyland App: The official Tokyo Disneyland app is a valuable tool for navigating the park. It provides real-time information on wait times, show schedules, and even offers a map to help you find your way around. Make sure to download it before your visit.
4. Stay Hydrated and Energized: Exploring the park can be tiring, so it's important to stay hydrated and energized. Carry a refillable water bottle and take advantage of the water fountains throughout the park. Also, pack some snacks or enjoy the delicious food options available to keep your energy levels up.
5. Enjoy the Parades and Shows: Tokyo Disneyland is known for its spectacular parades and shows, such as "Dreaming Up!" and "Happiness is Here." These shows are not to be missed and add an extra touch of enchantment to your visit.
Tokyo Disneyland
Most of us grew up loving the wonderful movies of Walt Disney, and visiting one of the Disney parks to have a magical day is on many kids’ and adults’ wish list. Whether you have gone to a Disney park already or if it is your very first time, the two Tokyo Disney parks in Japan are sure to delight young and old. The rides are so impressive, whole worlds from the Disney movies you love the best have been faithfully recreated, the shows are of Broadway-quality, and every little detail in the park and everyone who works in the park will make your trip to a Disneyland park unforgettable.
The Tokyo Disney Resort is located in Maihama in Chiba Prefecture, which is not Tokyo city itself, but it is only a short 16-minute train ride away from the centrally located Tokyo Station. Besides the official Tokyo Disneyland Hotels, there are many other hotels in the area that are a perfect starting point for a trip to one or both of the parks.

Disney Magic at Tokyo Disneyland
#tokyotrip
Tokyo Disneyland is gorgeous.
Everything is extremely well-maintained.
All rides and attractions look and feel new.
Plan your route by studying queue times and the map and set the right expectation.
The night electrical parade is prettier compared to the day parade. And queue for the rides during the parade are shorter.
Enjoy the beautiful park, have fun wearing different merchandise and stuff yourself with their famous popcorns of different flavours.
Although we don’t speak Japanese we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything.
Amazing lunch-Crystal Palace Disneyland Tokyo

When in Tokyo, we managed to make reservations for the highly-raved buffet lunch at Crystal Palace in Disneyland Tokyo and it was amazing!
There was a huge variety of dishes including Disney themed desserts, and being buffet style, it was all you can eat! The food choices were delicious and there was also a nice selection of beverages!
Highly recommended to make advance reservations as there’s always a long line waiting for tables!
After lunch, step right outside - you might be just in time to catch the Disney parade right at the doorsteps of the restaurant!
My rating of this restaurant: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

Nara Park Travel Recommendations for 2023 (Updated in Dec)
Feeding the deer in Nara
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City. It is a nice place to see hundreds of deer roaming freely.
Feeding the deer is one of the highlights when visiting the park. Some deer are aggresive tho, they will be chasing you if they smell the crackers, which you can buy around the park for 200 yen.
When you bow your head to the deer, they bow back to
you.
Getting there:
From Kyoto, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station to JR Nara Station. Miyakoji rapid trains depart every 30 minutes, and the trip takes about 45 minutes one-way. It is covered by the JR Pass. Local trains are also available, but take an hour and fifteen minutes one-way.

Getting There - Nara City, Japan.
Attractions - Public park in the Nara City, Relaxing atmosphere with stunning surroundings views of a great architecture of year 1880, the oldest park in Japan. Friendly people around which is a great place for weekend holiday and picnic.
Highlight- Enjoyed seeing the Dears and amazing architecture.
Deers in the City
#freehotelstay
Nara Park is a gorgeous place to visit that is walking distance from the busy main station where there are many restaurants and a famous walking street. Entry is free and you are free to roam around the grounds or purchase some food for the deers. Money collected goes towards the caretaking of them. The deers are free roaming who seemed to be always hungry. Feeding the deers was such a fun activity. Once they see the biscuit in your hands, they will charge towards you. The deers can get quite aggressive so we put our child in her stroller as she was scared. Becareful if you have young kids with you. Also, do keep food and plastics away from them. We had a deer digging into our stroller basket as we had some leftover bread exposed. That shocked my little one and us. However the coolest thing about the deers are that if you bow to them, they will bow back to you!
Besides the deers, Nara Park is filled with lots of culture and history with shrines and a huge pagoda right in the park. The area was tranquil and beautiful. Unfortunately we did not have much time to wander around longer. Nara Park is a absolute must visit as no other place has such a unique charm just right in the busyness of the town.
Explore Nara Park with Kids! 😍
We recently visited Nara Park, and let me tell you, it's a child-friendly and stroller-friendly haven that's perfect for families. This enchanting park in Japan offers a delightful blend of nature and culture, making it an ideal destination for parents and kids alike.
Nara Park is a great destination for families with little ones. The spacious pathways and well-maintained trails make it a breeze to navigate with a stroller. No need to worry about bumpy rides here!
What you can do with kids >
1. Feeding the Deers: 🍪 One of the highlights of Nara Park is the friendly deer population. Kids will absolutely love feeding them shika senbei (deer crackers). It's a magical experience watching their faces light up as they interact with these gentle creatures.
2. Exploring the Nara National Museum: 🏛️ The Nara National Museum, located within the park, is not your typical museum. It's filled with captivating artifacts and exhibits that can engage young minds and ignite their curiosity about history and art.
3. Isui-en Garden Adventure: 🌸 Adjacent to Nara Park, Isui-en Garden offers a tranquil escape into nature. The serene pond, meandering paths, and seasonal blooms provide a perfect backdrop for a family outing and some quality time in the great outdoors.
What can I say? Nara Park is a paradise for families. With its child-friendly and stroller-friendly paths, and many exciting activities, it's a place where parents (and non-parents!) can create lasting memories with their little ones. Based on my visit, I recommend packing your bags and bringing your family to Nara Park for a day of adventure and fun! You can also go solo! 😉🌟🌳
