Karangmojo travel guide and discussion

Climbing Mount Batur is a true adventure. You walk in the dark, under a starry sky, hearing only footsteps and breathing—and then suddenly the world begins to brighten. If the weather is good, the sun awaits you at the summit, slowly rising above the clouds and the lake—a breathtaking sight. And during the rainy season, Batur reveals itself differently: the fog, wind, and clouds beneath your feet create a particularly mysterious, almost mystical atmosphere. It feels like you're walking on clouds. It's important to dress appropriately for the weather: the summit can be cold and windy, especially in the morning. During the rainy season, a warm jacket, waterproof clothing, and comfortable shoes are essential for your comfort. Batur is an active volcano; its last eruption occurred in the 21st century, so the ground beneath your feet is literally "living." The volcano is located within a gigantic caldera, one of the largest in Indonesia, and at its foot lies Lake Batur, sacred to the Balinese. The altitude is approximately 1,717 meters, but the climb begins deep into the night, so the sunrise at the summit feels like a reward! If you want to see Bali not as it looks in a postcard, but as it truly is, then Batur is a must. This is one of those rare occasions when a midnight climb is completely worth it.

One of the most popular natural adventure spots in the area. Visitors can experience the spectacular and magical underground world. One of the most popular natural adventure spots in the Yogyakarta region of Indonesia, and the most stunning sight among them is the Heaven's Light inside the cave. When sunlight shines through the natural cracks above the cave, the beams of light penetrate the darkness and illuminate the serene cave below, creating a mysterious and dreamy scene, just like a movie setting, leaving us in awe. Upon reaching the open area in the center of the cave, you can witness the wonder of the 'Heaven's Light.' The tranquil environment combined with this sight makes one marvel at the natural wonders. It is recommended to visit between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, as the angle of the sunlight is just right during this time, creating the clearest and most spectacular beam effect inside the cave. It is advisable to bring a waterproof camera or a waterproof phone case. This is definitely a paradise for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts!

🌋 One of the most memorable adventures in Bali for me. I was picked up from Ubud, driven to the transfer point, and then we headed into the mountains in open jeeps. The mountainous terrain is quite challenging, so if you get motion sickness, keep that in mind. 🌄 What awaits you: · Jeep ride along mountain roads. · Watching the sunrise with views of the mountains and lake. · A small breakfast with local fruits and Balinese tea from the guides. · Beautiful landscapes and the opportunity to take extraordinary photos. Of course, every sunrise is different. Sometimes the mountains are covered in clouds, and sometimes the sky turns incredible colors. But the adventure itself is still impressive. ⚠️ Important information: It's cool in the mountains in the morning, so be sure to pack warm clothes. And keep in mind that after getting up at night, you'll be sleepy, so you might have less energy for a full day. My verdict: I think this adventure in Bali is definitely worth trying! It's not just a viewpoint, but a whole trip that will be remembered for a long time. #MountBatur #Bali #BaliJeepTour #Bali #Travel My name is Lisa, I'm a photographer and traveler 🌎 I've visited over 30 countries. Our adventure at Goa Pindul was nothing short of surreal. Nestled in the heart of Yogyakarta, this underground cave river offered an experience that blended thrill and tranquility in perfect harmony. From the moment we stepped into our life jackets and settled onto our tubes, a sense of calm washed over us—only the soft gurgle of water and echoes of laughter filled the air. As we drifted along the gentle current, we were surrounded by limestone walls that told stories thousands of years old. The narrow cave entrance opened up into stunning chambers where rays of sunlight pierced through crevices, illuminating the cool, clear water beneath us. The guide’s torchlight revealed impressive stalactites above and bats nestled quietly in their shadows. It was like entering another world—mysterious, silent, and ancient. One of the highlights was reaching a wider section of the cave where the roof opened up, allowing us to look up at the sky framed by lush greenery. We floated in stillness, soaking in the rare beauty of nature’s architecture. Every now and then, a playful splash from a fellow tuber added joy to the quiet reverence we felt. The journey lasted under an hour but left a deep impression—of peace, wonder, and connection with the earth. Goa Pindul wasn’t just a tubing experience; it was a moment to slow down and marvel at the hidden treasures beneath our feet. #GoaPindul #CaveTubing #Yogyakarta #travelfreak
