This time, I went in the opposite direction and chose to visit Bixi Ancient Town, Mohei Ancient Town, and the Nakeli Tea Horse Road Scenic Area, which are along the way. Leaving Honghe County, instead of taking the highway directly, you'll choose National Highway 553, which will be about ten minutes slower but offers stunning views of the Honghe River Valley. Two hours later, you'll reach Bixi Ancient Town. The town is small, consisting of intersecting streets. In the center of the streets stands an octagonal building, which looks new; it might be a reconstruction, but you can go up to see the entire town. The Yu Family Residence is right next to the octagonal building; it's the old house of the grandfather of Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu and is the most famous place in the town. However, the courtyard is small, typical of a middle-class family's residence. Mohei Ancient Town is in Ning'er County, a little over 100 kilometers from Bixi Ancient Town, about an hour and forty minutes away. Mohei Ancient Town is larger than Bixi Ancient Town and is also a famous town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. There aren't many tourists here; the market is bustling, but the streets are quiet, with various flowers blooming along the streets and in front of houses. I really liked this pristine beauty. The most famous attraction in the town is the former residence of Yang Likun. The classic films "Five Golden Flowers" and "Ashima" left audiences with beautiful memories but also marked the beginning of the tragic lives of the female protagonists. Fortunately, her hometown hasn't forgotten her, leaving space for those who love her to remember her. The Nakoli Tea Horse Road Scenic Area is very close to Pu'er city, only a half-hour drive.
