We visited on a sunny day. The church looked exceptionally beautiful then. It wasn't a grand cathedral, but it was steeped in history. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to share stories about the church. In fact, cathedrals are often quite similar, but with careful observation, one can discover traces of history.

Ripon is home to Yorkshires garden racecourse. A perfect venue for a sunny day of action and excitement. The first choice you'll need to make is where you want to be on the track. In the grandstand or in the inner circle. We've always picked the centre. It's got all the amenities you'll need and we can take our own picnic and beverages (no glass). Once inside it time to take out your chairs out and watch the action. There are normally between five and seven races and it'll take most of the afternoon. I'd recommend arriving at least an hour before the first race and making sure you've got time to park up and get into the inside inclosure.
