When we moved to China, we knew we had to visit the Harbin Ice & Snow Festival!
Each year, expert teams construct a city of ice blocks. The sculptures come alive at night as the neon lights begin to glow.
Is it freezing? Yes!! But there are many warm drink vendors. Fuel up on coffee or milk tea before taking a walk through the winter wonderland. When you need a break, pop back into a tent for another warm drink.
Outside of the festival, take time to explore Harbin’s parks and snap photos of Saint Sophia’s.
Definitely add this one to your bucket list!
❄️ Wear proper layers! Temps are well below freezing, so you’ll need quality insulation to stay warm.
❄️ Visit the snow festival by day.
❄️ Get to the ice park an hour or two before sunset so you can see the sculptures in the daylight, then watch the lights come to life after the sun goes down.

Let me present you this peculiar building with one of the coolest architectures in Shanghai!
A deactivated Slaughterhouse made out of pure concrete and converted now into a artistic community, full of alternative shops, music studios, performance rooms and much more 😲 !!
A great place to go for a walk, get lost in those maze corridors and find cool photo spots 📸
There's a nice rooftop with a nice view to the city and not far away a nice canal with the best view to the Bund 🌆 AHH, an it's free to get in !

Puyuan - old beauty at new glance
This ancient town has recently been opened and is still to be developed. There aren’t so many visitors yet and only some restaurants and shops open. However its beauty is stunning. There are many quiet lanes to discover and a lot of canals make it charming. As you see there are many beautiful sceneries for taking photographs .
getting there -
by hispeed train either to Jiaxing or Tongliang and then by bus
There is bus no. 1 running between Wuzhen and Puyuan (photo 10)
Restaurants:
Lao Tan Suan Caí Yu (photo 11&12)has a great view of the canal
Gu Jing 古井餐厅 （photo13-15）where we had a delicious fish, green vegetables, a potato like yutou 芋头 and stinky doufu which has been one of the best doufus ever and not stinky at all
Citizen Café has a cosy patio
There is also all kind of street food (photo 16). Just try! It is cheap!

we decided to go from Xingping village to the famous 9 horses mountain 🐎.
I have to say it wasn't my favorite trip, I expected more.
Our hotel had a deal for about 200rmb per person that includes pick up from our hotel in the West Street Area (45 min to Xingping) and return. Not a bad deal but still not sure if it is worth the money 💰.

It is mostly nice to be surrounded by nature in a quiet raft boat without crowds around.

The rental is sooooooo cheap, just 40rmb, whole day, an electric scooter that can ride 200km with a full charge 🤯.

I recommend staying in the West Street area where at night is full of life with bars, restaurants and so many street shops open until late 😁

Bipenggou (畢棚溝), I thought I had wandered into Europe.
We hired a driver to take us from Sichuan Chengdu to Bipenggou in the middle of October. It was truly a enchanting place. It had everything we had hoped for: stunning lakes adorned with autumn foliage, majestic snow mountains, and impressive waterfalls.
I showed the photos to an European friend, he said that it looked remarkably similar to Europe.
Bipenggou is truly a breathtaking and picturesque part of China. I will definitely return for more one day!

Changping Valley is one of the valleys in Siguniang Mountain. 🍂🥾🗻
You can take the bus in the beginning and hike by yourself later! It will be a stunning day in nature!
📍 Changping Valley, Siguniang Mountain, Sichuan - 4-5 hours drive from Chengdu. There is also a bus going there.

Autumn in Danba 🍂
Danba is a county in Garze, West-Sichuans. Most people here are Tibetans, so the architecture is special.
In autumn, the leaves in the valley turn yellow, red and orange. Even the ride to there is spectacular.

The Dreamy Gubei Water Town
Getting There - I took a trip with FCN/ Laowai, which provided me with bus transportation from Chaoyang Beijing to Gubei Water Town
Attractions - The whole town is an attraction. At 7 pm they have musical fountain show, but this is no ordinary fountain show. So, if you come here, make sure you watch it. During the day, they have a variety of traditional music performances, opera, etc.
Hotels - They have a resort and smaller hotels with varying level of service/amenities. I did not stay overnight my first time there, but I kinda regretted it. The hotels look so cute with fake-traditional

Autumn's First Snow In Xuema Valley
Autumn and snow don't go together? They do! This little paradise is inside Xuema Valley with a great view on Xuema Mountain in Sichuan.

Tibetan Xisuo Village in Autumn
Xisua Village is a picturesque small village in the West of Sichuan. The major population is Tibetan, so the houses have a unique style.
There are some restaurants and coffee shops to try local milk and coffee. Also there is a museum about the history of the village and culture.
🚘 Navigate to 西索民居 and you will arrive after 4 hours from Chengdu center.
🎟️ No entrance ticket to the village, but to the museum (55 RMB).

Hiking at Xuema Mountain
You want to go hiking in Sichuan with less people and beautiful scenery? This is the under valley of Xuema Mountain in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan.
It's a wonderful hidden valley in the mountains of West-Sichuan.
🚘 The only way to get to Xuema Valley is by car. From Chengdu, it's about 5-6 hours. Navigate to 雪马山 and you will arrive at this beautiful piece of nature.
🎟️ No entrance fee for the scenic area.
🥾 The hike is not that hard, because it's a valley. Nevertheless, Xuema is on over 3500m altitude all the time, so stay hydrated!

24 hours in Zhangye 🌈⛰️
We made a Trip to Zhangye in Gansu province to see the spectacular rainbow mountains with our own eyes. We flew from Beijing Daxing airport and it took 2:45 hours to get to Zhangye.
On arrival we found our hotel and it was just by a food market, we had lunch and breakfast here during our stay.
We were five persons traveling together so we asked our hotel to arrange trips for us around Zhangye. They had a mini bus to take us around.
First stop: 🌈 Rainbow mountains
We had certain expectations and were not disappointed. You can actually see the colors in the mountains. Its reddish sandstone that has been eroded to create magnificent rock formations with gorgeous colors over billions of years. By entrance of the park we had to take a bus to the different viewing points.
Second stop: Bingguo Danxia landform
Bingguo is the lesser known Danxia in the shadow of Rainbow mountain with less colors, mainly red. However we found it extremely cool to do a 3 hour hike in this spectacular landscape.
Third stop: Giant Buddha temple
With the largest sleeping Buddha in China. We had a little stroll inside the temple to kill time before our train Dunhuang.

Dinner at Wild Roomies
Our evening at Wild Roomies in Jianye district, Nanjing, was nothing short of delightful. The restaurant provided a beautiful setting with fantastic views, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable dinner. The atmosphere exuded a chilled and enjoyable vibe, setting the tone for a relaxed dining experience.
The culinary aspect of our visit surpassed expectations. The food was not only delicious but also served promptly, adding to the overall satisfaction. Among the culinary delights, the standout dish of the evening was undeniably the burger and fries. The flavors were exceptional, leaving a lasting impression.
Considering the enjoyable ambiance, swift service, and culinary excellence, I am eager to return to Wild Roomies. It truly made for a fun and satisfying evening, and I look forward to experiencing it again.

International Youth Convention Hotel
My family and I visited International Youth Convention Hotel Service Apartments. Our experience at this hotel during the weekend was truly amazing. The check-in process was quick, and the English-speaking gentleman at the front desk made it convenient. Our room was clean and offered a breathtaking view of the Nanjing Eye. The proximity to various attractions and restaurants added to the overall convenience.
Having a small store within the hotel and coffee shops nearby was a plus. The hotel's thoughtful provision of a crib for my daughter upon arrival was highly appreciated. The availability of both adult and kids' swimming pools, along with an on-site spa, ensured there was something for everyone. Breakfast the next morning was also great. There was a varitety of items to choose from.
The hotel's attention to detail and the amenities provided contributed to a memorable stay. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again, given the overall positive experience we had.

Wild House Café - cool music to relax 🇨🇳
Three days in Moganshan Town 莫干山镇 - three times come here. It is probably the best place for a great coffee or snack in a well designed environment. Every detail is so cool and cute. And yes all the plants are real! There is a patio and inside rooms giving you a feeling of being in the countryside.
We stayed here for a couple of hours surfing the internet and reading a book. Our baby fell asleep and we all had a nice relax.

Amazing Ginkgo trees in Autumn 🍂

Stone carving art museum
This museum was just opened to the public a few years ago. Located just by the beautiful Changhe river. It is a beautiful park to walk around in at any season however my favorite is autumn.
The Wutasi pagodas inside was built in 1473, and there is two ginkgo trees at the south of the pagodas, they are said to be 500 years. They are truly amazing during the autumn.
We came just at the time when the leaves were showing themselves at their best colors.
The entrance is really close to the north entrance of Beijing Zoo. We biked around the area for a bit and enjoyed the river view.

Siyan Guesthouse - above the clouds 🇨🇳
Today we stay at home stay guesthouse. It is outside the village and surrounded by bamboo forest and tea plantations. The view from our balcony on the 3rd floor is stunning (photo 5&6)
The big room has 45 square meters and sleeps 3 adults and of course our baby. (Photos 3&4)
For last day of October the temperature is quite warm. So I tried the pool. (Photo 1&7) It was quite refreshing and relaxing to swim！
Since it is a bit remote and difficult to find a taxi the owner offered us to drive to Moganshan town for free!
Nearby there isn’t much of restaurants but a bus stop. Address -

Joyous Resort - pure air pure mountains 🇨🇳
Do you need a rest from the busy city life? Then come to Mogan Shan 莫干山.This hotel is right what I need! A calm and beautiful place. When we arrived they already waited with a cart on the main road to take us up the hill! The staff is very friendly and helped us with the luggage.
The food is only Chinese but delicious. The presentation of the breakfast is very nice(Photo 11)
Dinner was duck, vegetables and rice (photo 12) As a coffee lover the only thing I missed was coffee but I survived!
We had a a two floor two bedroom with bathtub and shower (photo 4-7) Every detail is well designed and a lot of wood used. The beds are big and comfortable!
