This place is special and unique as its unique demonstration of art architecture and there are so many incredible buildings and beautiful churches. For example, one of the signature church is Riga is St’ Peter Church which is spectacular. I also climbed up to the observation point and see the beauty of whole Riga.
Moreover, the central market in Riga is insane with lots of shops inside that you can purchase.

Latvia museum of occupation
In Riga, the museum of occupation provides a lasting memory to the country's occupation by Russia and Germany. it was opened in 1993 but has been renovated since then. Inside are many exhibits that inform visitors of Latvian history in the past century.
The entry fee is 5 euros and is well worth it. I would suggest allowing two hours for a visit. It is well situated next to the House of the Black Heads.

Baltic trip D2 - Leipaja, Latvia
After an exhausted day in Riga, picked up a car and drive 3 hours toward the west to Leipaja, the hidden gem of Latvia! Nestled on the coast of the Baltic Sea.
The Naval Cathedral Church of Saint Nicholas and Karosta prison are interesting place to go.
The Karosta prison was a military prison and kept its original layout and it’s guided tour only. You can even book a cell to stay overnight to experience the life of a prisoner. Surprisingly, there are around 5-7 bookings per week.
The Leilpaja beach is a great place to relax, and highly recommended. A perfect ending for a day with a summer drink - aperol spritz.
Getting There - 3 hours drive from Riga

Sigulda — beautiful nature and castles
After seeing everything in Riga, we did some research, and decided to take the train to Sigulda, only an hour away from Riga.
Sigulda is a small town with around 17,000 inhabitants. It is located in the Vidzeme region in Latvia and 53 kilometres away from Riga. The town is overlooking the Gauja river valley and around the valley, there are multiple old castles and mansions.
We walked around 20000 steps and saw different creeks, castle hills, Livonian castle and the new Sigulda castle. for our surprise there were easy to find nice and and tasty meals on our way. coffee was a bit pricey , but worth it. we enjoyed a half day I. this little town and would come back in autumn to see the seasons change. #sigulda #latvia #spring #walk
Upscale, modern hotel
The Pullman Riga is located right on the edge of the Old Town. It's a good 5-10 mins on foot from most attractions. However, this also means it's a calmer property and won't be too affected by the noise and crowds. Staff are helpful and polite. The building's façade is an historic building but the interior is modern.
It's location is quite good and the street outside it doesn't see heavy traffic. Further the double windows of the rooms facing the street provide for a comfortable and quiet stay. The rooms are lovely; high ceilings and modern amenities. The premium room is very spacious and there's plenty of water, coffee and teas.
There's a pool, fitness center and a sauna also, which is a very nice touch. Get the buffet breakfast also, it includes a lovely selection of fresh foods, as well as mimosas!
Overall, a wonderful property. Highly recommend if hou want something upscale, comfortable and premium without cutthroat prices!

Our summer time in Riga, Latvia
Riga is the capital city of Latvia and has one of the best medieval architecture in the world. The entire city has approximately 700.000 people, it's quiet and best for holiday getaway. The old buildings located in old town have unique charme makes you take off your camera and snap them.
Latvians are kind people and very welcoming. You don't have to know their language in order to move around because most of their young people know how to speak English and they are always willing to help if you ask.

Nearby attractions include the picturesque Town Hall Square, St. Peter's Church, and the vibrant Livu Square with its restaurants and cafes.
