You can also borrow hats, coats, and crab-shaped ornaments for commemorative photos. There was no menu, but you could choose between crab alone (misquichos) or a mix of crab and small fish (congregitos mix), with a choice of white corn or potatoes as a side dish. It was 30 Bs, and beer was 13 Bs. The small fish were a mix of about three types, large, medium, and small, and were surprisingly delicious, so even if you came specifically for the crab, I recommend ordering the mix. Since you eat the crab whole, I enjoyed the texture more than the meat. Perhaps the meat content varies depending on the season. I saw the crabs live on the counter, so I'm sure they were very fresh. I couldn't find any in the city of Tarija, and it seems like there are many crab shops in this area, but it was a weekday lunchtime and no other shops were open. They fry them only after the order is placed, so you can enjoy fresh, crispy crabs. Perfect with a beer! This is the birthplace of a woman who dedicated her life to improving Tarija's fine cuisine, and her descendants have continued the tradition. Even though it's a famous restaurant, the menu items are all reasonably priced. The saise here is a must-try. Going through the small, slightly confusing entrance, you'll find a spacious courtyard, indoor dining area, and dining space. Inside, there are exhibits of kitchen utensils and family photos that Dona Pastorita used in the past. One thing to keep in mind is the opening hours. If you do, be sure to order a larger portion. The Saice is a combination of ground beef seasoned with an exquisite sauce, rice, pasta, and salad. If you order a smaller portion, you may regret wanting more. After paying, you'll be given a slip with your order written on it. Don't lose it, as it may be checked later. The order-taking and delivery staff are separate, so it's possible to receive the wrong item. If you think you didn't order what you ordered, it's a good idea to show the slip to confirm.
