Empire Hotel Hong Kong－Wan Chai

It has a bit of old-world charm, but overall it’s quite pleasant and perfectly acceptable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is fairly spacious, the neighborhood is well-served with amenities, and the location is excellent—highly recommended overall.

The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were polite, professional, and provided excellent service. Check-in was extremely fast. The location is prime and transportation is very convenient. Highly satisfied! Luggage storage is available, it was quiet at night, and the stay was very comfortable.

Much better than expected! I’d almost decided against booking here after reading some reviews, but I’m glad I did. The room was cleaned thoroughly, and I stayed on the 16th floor. The new staff members were exceptionally warm, friendly, and polite. Overall service was excellent. The only downside is the poor soundproofing—doors slamming in neighboring rooms were clearly audible. That said, everything else was great.

The hotel has an excellent location with convenient transportation links all around. The staff are relatively polite and attentive, and while the facilities are a bit dated, they basically meet guests' needs considering how prime and expensive real estate is in Hong Kong. The room size is quite small, and having to stand in the bathtub to shower takes some getting used to. However, the breakfast spread is quite rich and varied.

This must be my 11th time transiting through Hong Kong this year, and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel that really put me in a great mood. Maybe I was just assigned a particularly good room, or perhaps they're all just this nice? Last month, on my way back to the mainland from Birmingham with a transit in Hong Kong, I stayed at the Conrad in Mong Kok, and the short front desk staff there drove me crazy—refusing to answer anything or even acknowledge me. By comparison, the front desk staff here are extremely polite!

It was pure luck finding this hotel on my first trip to Hong Kong. I was tired from walking around Central and sat in a restaurant to look for a nearby hotel. The map showed it was a 15-minute walk. There were plenty of restaurants around the hotel, and the area got livelier the further we walked. The location is super convenient. We booked a twin room with two beds, and the hotel kindly upgraded us to a suite. The room was huge, and overall, it far exceeded our expectations.
