We traveled across NM-9 on our way to San Diego in 2020 and stopped for gas in Columbus. We liked the scenery and decided to drive it again in 2023 and plan the trip so we could stay overnight in Columbus. Los Milagros Hotel had excellent reviews, so we decided to book it. We had Room 6 which is on the main floor and has two beds. The beds were very comfortable, and the room and bathroom were very well equipped. WiFi was available and worked well for our purposes. Check in was casual and pleasant. In the morning, I had a nice chat with the owner, Phil, about the area. There are some local craft and art items for sale in the lobby area. As I learned while walking around the adjacent area, Columbus was probably the last place in the U.S. that was invaded by foreign outlaws on horses. Pancho Villa's adherents shot-up and burned stores in the mid-1910s. We're glad we stopped here and highly recommend it to others.
