I booked the most expensive room in this hotel. It was a rooftop room with a private terrace. The room itself was just average. I have been to many hotels around Hoan Kiem Lake, so I cannot say the room condition was bad. However, although I thought it was a rooftop terrace suite, there was a rooftop bar directly above our room. Because of that, every step people made above us sounded like loud metal banging. It was extremely noisy and very unpleasant. When I booked the room, even though it was the most expensive one, no one informed me about this at all. I booked the best room so that my pregnant partner could rest, but we couldn’t sleep until midnight when the rooftop bar finally closed. I complained to the staff, but the only response I received was that they were sorry and that nothing could be done about the noise. I will never come back to this hotel again. In fact, the most expensive room was probably noisier than the cheapest room. Don’t be fooled by the large rooftop terrace. You will end up facing hellish noise until midnight.
