Yitel Zhishang Hotel (Shanghai DIYiBaBaiBan Shangcheng Road Subway Station)

Great service, and the room was spacious and very clean. The location is also good with lots of shops and attractions nearby.

The shower experience was quite poor. The water pressure was very low, and the hot water kept fluctuating between hot and cold. Given that it's Shanghai and it gets cold at night, I'd advise others to consider this, especially as it's more noticeable in the evening. Taking a shower was a big problem. When I brought it up, the hotel said it was because of the high floor and how their hot water system is designed, implying it couldn't really be fixed. This really impacted my stay. Also, the movie function on the room's TV didn't work properly; it was basically just for show. Even after I reported it, there was no real improvement, though this issue was more tolerable than the hot water problem. Aside from these issues, everything else was fairly standard. The staff were responsive and handled issues with a good attitude; they didn't completely ignore problems.

The hotel's location is pretty good; you can get to Nanjing East Road in a few stops on Line 2, or take Line 9. The front desk staff were also very helpful and upgraded our room. Great value for money.
