Considering its price range (Approx. A$350 per night), it is one of the worst resorts with lowest value for money I’ve ever stayed in my all travel experiences in 65 countries.
Stay here if you have money and don’t mind to be ripped off.
Pros
1. Ideal location for scuba divers: The only PADI dive shop in Samoa is right next to the resort, and you will get into the dive boat right in front of Le Lagoto’s own beach; However, the nearby resorts such as Savaii Lagoon resort etc. also enjoy the same privilege;
2. A friendly staff called Seti is very supportive and hospitable, whereas other staff are less so.
Cons
1. The room is pretty worn out: Dark, dim lights, broken furnitures, dirty curtains…Inside the room is pretty much like a cheap motel along the highway in remote areas of inland Australia;
2. A/C not working strongly: Feeling hot inside the room during daytime;
3. No WiFi in the rooms: Only unreliable and slow wifi in check-in areas;
4. Breakfast is very basic, pretty much only bread and fruits, considering its price range, it’s one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had in the similar level resorts, I would say its breakfast is worse than those provided in Youth hostel;
5. Even eggs are extra you need to pay: I was told to pay 15 tala (Approx. AUD $8) for 2 eggs when I check out: This is my first time even see a resort in this price range with no egg included in their breakfast, and these are the most expensive eggs I’ve ever paid, even more expensive than the eggs I paid in Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne when the breakfast is not included in what I paid for;
6. Kayak not allowed to use during the best time of the day to use Kayak - before sunset when it’s not too hot. Basically they expect you to use kayak in 12-4pm when you are directly under the sun and the heat is unbearably scorching. I can only jealously look at the group of guests from the neighbor Savaii Lagoon Resort enjoying their sunset Kayak every day;
7. I stayed here for 3 nights and they never make up my room even once, no water replenishment, no towel until I asked the staff to give me clean towels.
I recommend my fellow travellers to avoid this resort as you can find better alternatives nearby. With the location you can find good resorts nearby with half price and better services.
