During our recent stay, we used the complimentary airport shuttle service. Upon arriving at the airport, the driver refused to assist us with our luggage, despite this typically being part of the service — especially important as we are a group of women and I personally have an arm injury.
When I asked the driver for assistance, he ignored my request and insisted we handle the luggage ourselves. However, moments later, when two European passengers approached, he quickly helped them without hesitation. He also removed all other passengers’ luggage except ours. Only after I insisted again did he very reluctantly and roughly unload our luggage.
This behavior was highly disrespectful, and the difference in treatment was so stark that it felt clearly discriminatory — suggesting that we were being treated differently because we are Asian.
