Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour

The shower in my room dripped quite a bit, getting the sink area wet, haha. The location is fantastic. The walls are a bit thin. You can get there by train from the airport, transferring at Central, or by Uber in about 12 minutes from the airport! When ordering an Uber at the airport, even if you specify a car type, you basically just get in the next available car in line, haha. You tell them a 6-digit code, and the destination is input directly into the car's navigation system – it's a pretty innovative system. This really helps to clear up congestion at the pickup point, and the line moves smoothly!

The location was good and the view was great, probably because I booked an upgraded room option. However, the facilities are very old, and there were many strange things. When I showered, there was a very loud noise from the showerhead. Although the room description stated that shampoo and body wash would be provided separately, the bathroom only had an all-in-one shampoo + body + face wash product. In addition, there were minor inconveniences such as no trash can or tissues in the room.

Service: It was okay. I was changing hotels, so I dropped off my luggage early in the morning, and the front desk staff was really enthusiastic. However, for the two nights I actually stayed, the service I encountered was pretty standard. Facilities: The hotel definitely shows its age. The showerhead is a rainfall type, but the faucet doesn't close tightly, so it dripped all night long, which was quite noisy. The shower floor is plastic and very slippery – it feels like you could easily fall. Harbour View Room: I booked this hotel specifically for the view, but the windows don't open, and there's no balcony. Looking through the glass at night, you really can't see much, which was a big disappointment for me. Overall: This is a chain hotel with a lot of guests, so it must have other reasons for people to stay. But if I had to choose again, I probably wouldn't pick this one.
