The signature beef sushi is made to order, right before your eyes. The beef slices curl slightly under the blowtorch, then are coated in egg and pop into your mouth – you're genuinely momentarily stunned. The meat is tender, the egg is smooth, and the two complement each other perfectly. The dim lighting in the restaurant is perfect for a leisurely meal. Even after leaving, I was still thinking about that bite of beef and felt a little tempted to go back and sit there a while longer.
I went at noon, and it was more crowded than I expected; I waited almost half an hour before we could sit down. But the moment I took the first bite, I knew it was worth the wait. The ingredients were indeed fresh; the shrimp was sweet, and the shellfish was cleaned thoroughly, without any sand. We ordered a few dishes, which were just right for two people, and I didn't feel bad about the bill. The restaurant was a bit noisy, but the lively atmosphere was actually quite relaxing, and I didn't feel awkward going alone. Next time, I'd like to try some different dishes.
This restaurant originated in Guangzhou. The dishes I ordered were all decent, none were bad. That signature roll—I think it was something like that—was quite tasty. It was a bit crowded, though; we had to wait in line for a while. As for the prices, well, that's subjective; not cheap, but not outrageous either.
