James Hotel review We just enjoyed 2 glorious weeks at The James Hotel in Tralee (checked out yesterday). We loved every minute of being at this hotel, from the comfort to the staff and service. I highly recommend that you book your Tralee stay here. The location is perfect for access to all the beautiful excursions of this area, walking is lovely and there's a taxi stand on the far side of the block. Eimear, the hotel reservations manager, is, in my opinion, the heart of this hotel. She'll most likely be at the front to greet you. And during your visit you may find yourself asking her the most obscure advice of the area and she'll have a recommendation, and most likely a moment to chat and probably a bit of a laugh to share too. Her lovely personality, professionalism, and skill in making guests feel special is a gift. On our check-in and out days, we were lucky to meet Marta. We enjoyed getting to know her a bit, and she was so lovely in seeing to any last minute requests, leaving me a small and much appreciated treat on one occasion too. Our room (303) was incredible - this family room is enormous. 2 beds situated on each side of a divider wall. There is a small sitting area that I quickly donned “the library”, since my husband and I enjoyed many quiet evenings reading there. The library is also beside what we would call a bay window seat, one of two huge windows in this room, letting in loads of light. The beds are divinely comfortable. The lavender pillow spray just gave us the final (and thoughtful) touch for a luxurious rest every single night. The bathroom is huge. We felt so spoiled by its opulence, from the open shower and shower seat to the thick plush towels, heated towel rack, and lovely smelling locally sourced toiletries. Thank you, Mary, accommodation manager, and Eabha and Eva for your sweetness and kindness and for keeping our room stocked and in top-notch condition during our stay. Breakfasts were included with our room booking (available, generally, all days but Mondays and Tuesdays), and I'd highly recommend that you take The James Hotel up on this option. Aside from a continental nook, which included my favorite - yogurt parfait with berry compote, you have an option of choosing off a small, but perfectly diverse hot menu, and this is where the spoiling really begins! My goodness. The hot menu coupled with the staff, Rachel, Joanna and Ciara - I promise you will start each and every day at the hotel with kindness, a spoiling and a full belly. My husband and I enjoyed many afternoons and or evenings at the hotel bar as well. We loved the touch of a complimentary drink on arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of the bar and restaurant staff, Michaela, Jean Christian, Arbias, Ciara and Chris. Draft and cocktails are most beautifully and carefully prepared. We had food here more than once as well - you must try the calamari! Anything really, on the food menu came out of the kitchen looking amazing! Thank you
