Atour S Hotel, Beijing Road Tianzi Wharf, Guangzhou

After much deliberation, I chose this hotel and have no regrets. The location is superb, right where Lin Zexu disembarked in Guangzhou (the 'Reception Pavilion' is proof of this). Downstairs, you'll find Tianzi Pier No. 1, perfect for a night cruise to see the Canton Tower. Plus, there are countless authentic Cantonese eateries nearby, so you can eat to your heart's content. The room was clean and tidy, the hot water was fast, and the shower had great pressure. In short, no complaints. Thumbs up! On this trip to Guangzhou, as a loyal 'Su Shi fan,' how could I miss Huizhou? I made a special detour to visit Mr. Su Shi's old residence in Huizhou, where he was exiled. Su Shi once said: 'If you ask about my life's achievements, Huangzhou, Huizhou, Danzhou.'

The room's location is excellent, right opposite the pier and very close to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. However, it seems the hotel hasn't been renovated in a while; the toilet flush wasn't working very well, and the bathroom wasn't as clean as it could be. There was some sticky residue on the sink that I couldn't identify.

Came to Chengdu for a holiday with my kids, and my friend booked this Atour hotel for us. It has convenient parking. Room facilities: Pretty good, quite new and comfortable to use. Value for money: Decent. Breakfast: Quite extensive and actually tasty, much better than breakfasts at other hotels. Bed: Comfortable, with larger and slightly smaller options available. Service: The front desk staff were really helpful.

I booked a twin room with a river view, and while it felt nice upon check-in, I noticed the room's facilities were quite outdated upon closer inspection. After I informed the front desk, they immediately upgraded my room and offered complimentary breakfast. Thumbs up to this hotel's service! 👍 I'd recommend the river view rooms again.

Located right across from Tianzi Pier, it's perfect to enjoy a late-night snack by the window while taking in the night view. No need to even bother with a river cruise! Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is within walking distance, and downstairs there's Guangzhou Restaurant. You'll also find popular spots like Fanlou and Tao Tao Ju nearby, making it a great area for dim sum. The only downside is that the bathroom is a bit small.

Great location right by Tianzi Wharf, super convenient for getting around. However, the room was cramped, and the facilities were quite old, plus the showerhead was broken.
