1. The location is everything. Book early & ask for a view. 2. Make your dinner reservations early too. Make them directly with the lodge. 3. Enjoy the lodge fire on chilly mornings, read, play checkers or chess, grab coffee, tea, or visit with other guests, We adore the pre-breakfast mornings there. 4. Meals were excellent. Dinner portions were large, but the kitchen scaled down for me. The dining room staff was wondrous. 5. You can bike or take horseback rides (they come with the cabin). String Lake is near for water sports & there are lots of hikes available without driving. 6. Housekeeping was great. Ice was delivered once a day. The front desk untangled my necklaces. They will try to take care of your needs. 7. The kitchen staff made my picky Princess breakfast everyday to perfection. You can basically order whatever you want. 8. This is a cozy mountain lodge with cozy cabins in the best location ever. I wish we could afford more days, but it is worth it if you take advantage of the place.

Is getting food poisoning on your 2025 bucket list? Look no further than Legion Lodge. If projectile vomiting, five days of gastrointestinal mayhem, and a chili-induced cleanse sound like your idea of a vacation memory, then congratulations...you’ve found the perfect restaurant. My wife ordered the chili at Legion Lodge, and then about 8 hours later experienced stomach cramps, bloating, vomiting, and diarrhea that lasted for several days. I called the restaurant to get a refund (as we have personal policy that we don't pay for food that is rotten, spoiled, or contaminated) and spoke to the assistant-manager. She said she would provide a refund, and the manager would get back to me today...but she never called to discuss the incident. So you can get a sense of how this restaurant is being run. A customer calls and says they got food poisoning, would like a call back from the manager, and they don't call. That about tells you everything you need to know. Would never return.

The noise level is annoying. It is 11:09 pm and the music from the kitchen (pioneer grill) echoing thru our bedroom window is unreal. Windows must be open due to no Air conditioning. So I guess no sleep for us until the kitchen staff goes home for the evening.

Celebrated our 40th anniversary with a stay at Jenny Lake Lodge and it met all our expectations. I had been there as a child, and we had spent time in the Tetons in past years with our kids. This was such a treat. We loved our cabin (Forget Me Not used to be the manager's cabin, and it's a bit off to the side, with lovely breezes and great access to String Lake and Leigh Lake. We borrowed the lodge bicycles and loved biking around the area. Also took advantage of the on-site stables for a trail ride around Jenny Lake, which was lovely. Breakfasts and dinners in the lodge dining room were highlighted by the wonderful servers--shout out to Tony and Emma especially! The selection was wide and we were always satisfied. It's not exactly Michelin-quality food, but the surroundings, the views, and the service made up for it. We would go back in a heartbeat!

This was a great romantic trip for my girlfriend and I. The hiking around the location was ideal. The food was delicious. The scenery of the Tetons is incredible. We ended up getting engaged on this trip! The lodging took note of our engagement and helped us to celebrate our engagement. The hotel staff were friendly, kind and attentive. This is a great place to get away and enjoy high quality hiking, scenery and nature. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

While my comments would echo most of the others re the cabins, food, service, etc., there were few mentions of the absolutely dark sky filled with so many stars that one could hardly seek out the constellations. I often book trips to coincide with the New Moon, especially in my trips to WY and MT where I know big skies exist. This was my first visit to Jenny Lake Lodge, although I have stayed in the other Tetons lodges as well as in Jackson. In addition to the stars and the Milky Way, the proximity to the mountains is worth the visit. Check out the photo I have included that is the view from the front porch of Chokecherry, my cabin. Not all cabins have extensive views, plus I was able to just step out onto the field in front of my porch and look up to see stars, satellites and even meteors. It was so quiet also! In talking with fellow guests, it is apparent that many return. I, too, will be returning next Sept for more New Moon skies and have already booked my cabin. Visit for the ambience, food and service, but don't forget to look up!
