Holiday Inn HUNTSVILLE-RESEARCH PARK by IHG

The hotel was located in convenient access to shopping and restaurants. The staff were efficient. The breakfast was fresh and had a good selection of food to choose. The room’s bed was very comfortable with ample pillows and nice bedding. Bathroom was clean and stocked with toiletries & towels. The only issue that was bothersome is that the carpet is in need of replacing. It detracted from my giving another star. I would still recommend this Holiday Inn for its overall cleanliness and its amenities. However, I would recommend the carpet be replaced because it does detract from the room’s general comfort.

Only problem we had was with check in. The lady at the front kept giving us different check in times. We was not able to check in until late in the evening.

The front desk was not friendly upon arrival. There was a long wait to checkin although I was the only one checking in. There was a line of roughly 7 people paying individually for their snacks and one front desk clerk. The second front desk person showed up just as the group was finishing up. The following morning I went down to the lobby to get coffee at 6:15 and it wasn’t ready. I nicely asked the front desk what time it would be ready and without looking up from her computer said “I don’t know, they’re late” in an annoyed tone. When we went to breakfast the lady greeted me by asking if I was paying cash or charging the breakfast bar to the room. It was clearly stated in my reservation that it was included with my stay but didn’t have time to argue with her as we were in a hurry. This was discouraging as we stayed 3 nights and the morning after our last night we had to leave too early to make use of the breakfast bar.

Our stay unfortunately wasn’t the relaxing overnight we were hoping for. When we got to the room, there were ladybugs all over the ceiling, which made the room feel unclean and uncomfortable. We understand bugs can happen, but the number of them made it seem like the room hadn’t been checked recently. Later in the evening, there was a loud party happening in a meeting room directly across the hall. The noise carried through the hallway and into the room and went on until close to midnight, which made it difficult to relax and get any rest. The next morning I went to ask for coffee, and the staff member I spoke with seemed bothered by the request rather than welcoming. It left us feeling like we were inconveniencing them just by asking. Overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations for a comfortable overnight stay. A little more attention to room conditions, noise management, and guest service would go a long way toward improving the experience.

Have never had a problem at this hotel but the last time we went the hot tub was not hot. Other than that it was 👍

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and our room was clean. The only downside was there was no extra toilet tissue.

It was all great! And the breakfast in the morning was delicious, nice buffet with food hot and fresh. Really nice staff.
