CBH Burleigh Court Hotel

All rooms have unique design. Bed is super comfy. Breakfast was great. We wholly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the Lodge Cottage but had access to the hotel and facilities. The Lodge has a superb view over the valley. The En-Suite is quirky as it's located in the hall of the bedroom with no door between the En-Suite and the bedroom! We suggest a sliding door for privacy. The wood fire hot tub takes 5 hours to heat up and it needed a good clean. We used the one in the wellness garden which was very nice indeed. The food for non vegetarians is good, but I had the same main meal two nights in a row! When I did ask not to have the same meal again, I was offered Gnocchi and the same vegetables my husband got with his fish. Menu needs working on! Yes the hotel is quirky but its the staff that make this hotel, Josh, Wren, Oscar all friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We all thought that the menu was on the expensive side as were the drinks. Yes we enjoyed our stay, its not 4 * hotel best 3* but with some tweaking and improvements it will be a 4 * hotel.

Amazing hotel of Burkleigh court hotel! Beautiful flowers. Nice mordern building. Super shiny grass. Peaceful. Awesome grounds.. Fantastic trees. Colourful leaves. Good car park. Brillant statues. Pretty plants. Excellent views. Awesome trees. Wonderful deer statues. Lovely gardens. Very spikey green hedges. Super delicate soft roses Big brown bemches. Long green lawn. Delicious food. This hotel is not four star! On arrival no hot water it was being fixed couldnt say if it could be done by morning. Lots of stairs to our room which I struggled with so given complimentary suite on level different water feed too so it was hot. At first we thought room was quirky. It wasnt it was just tired and dark. Food first night expensive but ok. Second night lamb at £38 inedible! Despite my husband not being able to eat it and complaining no response. This morning no hot water for shower there had been problem with fuse. Last straw was going into restaurant for breakfast and a dog in there with his owners the restaurant being small smelt of it. At that point we told them we were leaving. They refunded for night not breakfast we missed. The point is we wanted a restful three night break in a good four star hotel. It isnt!

Burleigh is such a beautiful location for our monthly meeting. The staff are always very helpful and the food delicious.

Lovely staff and delicious food, but a very disappointing stay. The staff we did encounter were lovely and the food was delicious, but unfortunately the lack of hot water completely ruined our stay. We arrived on Monday to find there was no hot water, and incredibly, there was still no hot water on Wednesday. On Tuesday we were told the water would be switched off from 11am until 2pm, which we accepted, but by 5.30pm it was still off. By Wednesday morning, with no hot water and no clear information about when it would be restored, we simply couldn’t cope any longer and had to leave one night early and book into another hotel. What was particularly disappointing was the lack of communication. There were no staff around first thing on Wednesday morning to answer guests’ questions or explain what was happening. The poor lady serving breakfast appeared to be left to deal with frustrated guests and field all the questions herself, which was completely unfair on her. It’s a real shame because the staff were genuinely lovely and the food was very good. However, basic facilities such as hot water are essential when staying in a hotel, and the lack of communication made an already difficult situation much worse. We left feeling very disappointed.

Stayed here for a few days. The setting is peaceful. Property is a little dated. We stayed on the top floor (no lift) in a splendid room which had a walk-in shower. The views were marvellous from the two windows. Meals are taken in the dining room. Evening meal menu was not altered whilst we were there. Breakfast did not include fresh fruit eg bananas, apples oranges etc cooked breakfast can be ordered. No croissants!! Staff are very friendly and very efficient. Parking can be tight especially if some cars are not parked within the lines. There is a small pool hot tub and sauna at the rear. WiFi good.

My partner booked a room and meal for my birthday. He did this by phoning the hotel direct. Unfortunately, due to circumstances we’ve had to cancel the booking so my partner phoned the hotel to cancel. He was told by a surly man that all bookings had to be in writing. So I emailed the cancellation. I then received an email advising that as the booking was made through ******* it had to be cancelled by them. After several phone calls to the hotel to explain we had booked direct with the hotel we were again told we had to contact *******. I did this only to be told they (*******) had no trace of a booking through them. We then phoned back to the hotel and spoke to Gary who was very helpful and after speaking to his manager confirmed our cancellation. We definitely won’t be dealing with this hotel again.

Appalling customer service. Tried to arrange a bottle of champagne as a surprise for my son in laws 60th birthday dinner. Tried all afternoon to speak to the restaurant, was promised by central reservations that I would be contacted before the dinner appointment- no contact whatsoever. Wrote to hotel expressing my disappointment at the lack of response and received an email suggesting it was an isolated incident and the hotel consider the matter closed and would not be entering into any further correspondence on the subject. Reading other reviews this seems to be a standard reaction to valid customer complaints.
