Hyatt Regency Metropolitan Chongqing

Fantastic experience! The room was spacious enough, very clean and hygienic. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the bathtub was spotless! The hotel's amenities were comprehensive. The only downside was having a robot deliver everything, haha – definitely inconvenient for those who order a lot of takeout!

The location is fantastic, right by Jiefangbei. The staff, including the front desk, were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to the lady at the gym's front desk who patiently guided my child when they were using the fitness equipment. The only minor downside was that the mattress in the room didn't feel very firm. But overall, it was a great stay! The breakfast was good too. For the May Day holiday, this price was truly excellent value for money.

The location is excellent, right outside Jiefangbei, which is incredibly convenient. The service is great, and the front desk staff are very enthusiastic. However, the facilities are quite old. The room is small, the bathtub is tiny, and the TV doesn't support screen mirroring. It definitely needs an upgrade. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant – super expensive, and many recommended dishes weren't available. One bowl was all chili with hardly any meat; I honestly wanted to pick out the meat to see if it even amounted to 10 pieces. Ugh, after two nights, we changed hotels. But, the desserts in the lobby were delicious, I recommend those!

The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel's location is excellent, right downstairs from Jiefangbei, and the subway is just a short walk away. Hongyadong is also within easy walking distance. I even extended my stay for two more days. Just a note about the cleanliness: please don't leave dirty toilet paper rolls in the room for guests to use.

Came to Chongqing for my kid's spring break, and the hotel's location is excellent – you can see Jiefangbei right from the main entrance. However, the hotel is quite old. The air conditioning units feel like they're from a renovation ten years ago. Because it was raining the day we arrived, the room also had a strong musty smell, and there was a bad odor from the bathroom drains. We arrived too late that day to switch rooms, but I did communicate the situation to the front desk when checking out. They responded very quickly, and their service attitude is definitely commendable. With the room rate approaching 900 near the May Day holiday, the value for money is questionable. I've stayed at many Hyatt hotels across the country, and this one doesn't stand out for its facilities.

I spent a lot of time choosing a hotel for my trip to Chongqing. Some hotels had high ratings but were actually quite bad. In the end, I chose the Metropolitan Hotel, and it truly didn't disappoint. The location is excellent. Turn right out of the hotel and walk a few steps, and you're at Jiefangbei. Daijia Alley and Hongyadong are also within walking distance. About 200 meters away is Bayi Food Street, which has an abundance of snacks, restaurants, and local specialties, making it incredibly convenient. At the same time, it's not actually *on* Food Street, so you avoid the noise. Many hotels in Chongqing share a main entrance, with different hotels occupying different floors accessible by the same elevator, which can be chaotic. Waiting in line for the elevator wastes a lot of time. The Metropolitan Hotel, however, stands independently and quietly, which is rare and fantastic for a hotel in a tourist area! The hotel's service was also very thoughtful, leaving me with a wonderful impression of Chongqing's local culture as soon as I arrived. Although the hotel faces the street, the room was very quiet. Breakfast was also plentiful. However, I have one small suggestion: the hairdryer is a bit old-fashioned; it would be even better if it could be replaced with a newer model. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!
