Hallstatt is located on the shores of Lake Hallstatt in Salzkammergut, Austria, surrounded by the peaks of the Alps. In 1997, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The town prospered because of salt, with salt mining dating back approx. 7,000 years. The early European Iron Age "Hallstatt culture" is named after this town. The town's colorful wooden houses are built in layers on the steep hillside, reflected in the calm lake water. From the lakeside promenade, the painted wooden houses, church spires, and the lake and mountain scenery blend together. Take a cable car up the hillside where the salt mine is located, and from theSky Walkviewing platform, you can overlook the town and the panoramic lake and mountain views. The salt mine is open to visitors, who can go deep into the mine tunnels and experience thousands of years of salt mining history. And the bone house next to Basilika St. Michael is another unique view in Hallstatt.Hallstatt · 16.8 km from Bad Ischl

Lake Hallstatt is located in the Salzkammergut region of Austria and is an Alpine lake carved by glaciers. It has a long, narrow surface and towering cliffs on both banks, resembling a fjord. The lake reaches a depth of 125m and has clear water; it is named after the town of Hallstatt on its shore. When the water is calm, the surface reflects the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains like a mirror. It is often shrouded in mist in the early morning, and the mountain forests are colorful in the fall. A traditional wooden flat-bottomed boat called a "Fuhr" is still preserved on the lake. It has been used to transport salt and goods on the lake since the 13th century, and this boating skill has now been included in the list of intangible cultural heritage. Every year on Corpus Christi, local residents hold a traditional procession on the lake. People decorate the flat-bottomed boats with flowers and set up altars on them. The bishop, choir, and people dressed in traditional costumes travel by boat on the lake to perform rituals, a unique folk custom that has continued for hundreds of years. In addition, the clear water of the lake also attracts diving enthusiasts. Sunken ancient trees and the wreckage of old salt transport ships are preserved underwater, and there is even an underwater altar. Tourists can take sightseeing cruises around the lake, and looking back at the town of Hallstatt from the lake is a classic postcard view. There are walking trails and bicycle paths on the east bank, suitable for hiking or cycling to enjoy the lake and mountain scenery.Hallstatt · 15.2 km from Bad Ischl

I had an amazing experience visiting Hallstatt, and it felt like stepping into a real-life postcard. The village is incredibly beautiful, with calm lake views, traditional wooden houses, and mountains surrounding the area. One unforgettable moment was standing by the lake early in the morning when the water was completely still and reflected the entire village like a mirror. I also enjoyed walking through the small streets, taking photos at every corner because the scenery was just so stunning. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, very different from busy cities. Overall, Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited and definitely worth the trip for its breathtaking views and quiet charm.

Lake St. Wolfgang is located in the lake area of Salzkammergut, Austria. There are many lakes in the lake area. The most famous one is undoubtedly Hallstatt, and Lake St. Wolfgang is also one of the best. The emerald green lake water, the Schafberg beside the lake, the town of St. Wolfgang and the famous White Horse Hotel are all the highlights of Lake St. Wolfgang. You can swim and row in the lake. In addition, there are far fewer tourists than in Hallstatt. It feels very comfortable to vacation by the lake.

[Scenery] Emperor Franz and Sissi met in Bad Ischl, where they were engaged. Empress Sophie gave the villa to the emperor as a gift. The royal family often came here for vacation and hunting. [Fun] The courtyard is green and grassy. There is a low hill opposite the villa, from which you can overlook the entire town. [Value for money] The Royal Villa Garden is 4.6 euros, and the palace and photo museum are charged separately. Since there is only German explanation in the palace, we can't understand it at all, so we only bought tickets for the garden.

Everyone takes photos from different postcard angles, but no matter from which angle you look at it, it is absolutely beautiful. This small town is at the foot of the Alps, with lakes and mountains, and it is quiet and beautiful. The top of the church has become this typical postcard angle.
