Lake Kinrin
Lake Kinrin is one of the representative sightseeing spots in the Yufuin area. It is located at the foot of Mount Yufu. It was formerly known as Yuexia Pond. Later, a Confucian scholar saw the lake glittering like fish scales under the setting sun, and it was renamed Lake Kinrin from then on. In addition to the runoff injected by Yubuyue, there are also natural springs at the bottom of the lake, so Lake Kinrin is actually half a hot spring lake. There's a direct bus from Oita Airport to the park, but it only runs once a day in the morning. It was so hot that we only went on a few rides before leaving. The rides were okay, but they were geared towards younger children. We also had lunch there.

How can you miss Kinrin Lake when you come to Yufuin
In the morning, the lake is covered with mist, and it feels like you are in a fairyland
When the sun rises, the mist dissipates, and you can see the lake rippling like fish scales, which is so beautiful. There is a hot spring hotel nearby, which is very convenient. The small shop under the hot spring hotel is also very good. The colored candies sold there are delicious, with several flavors. The green one is matcha, the yellow one is ginger flavor, and the key color is amber. You can buy it and try it. I haven't seen it anywhere else.

[Scenery] A very cheap observatory at Beppu Tower, you can climb it for 200 yen, but the facilities are very dilapidated
[Fun] It may be more historical, but you can enjoy the environment of Beppu Beach, which is worth the price

Take a bus from Beppu Station to the Cable Car Kogen Station, a journey of about half an hour. The first cable car runs at 9:00 AM, so it's recommended to arrive at the Cable Car Kogen Station by 8:50 AM. By then, you'll be able to line up for the cable car, and the first ride will be less crowded.
The views from the mountain are stunning, offering panoramic views of Beppu city and the Yufuin area.
We recommend allowing about an hour and a half to enjoy the scenery.

Yufuin has a beautiful valley scenery, a wide view, surrounded by mountains, beautiful and refreshing. You can see more beautiful scenery from a high place. It is recommended to go there on a sunny day. We went there in the rainy season, and it was not very convenient to walk.

I wanted to see the sunset and night view, but the bugs started to appear in the evening. I wasn't prepared, but I could have gone if I had. Google navigation and other navigation methods were inaccurate. I decided to hike back and forth, which was pretty close.
