Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is located at the intersection of Israel, Jordan, and Palestine, a long, narrow saltwater lake nestled between the Judean Desert and the surrounding mountains. The lake's salinity is far higher than that of ordinary seawater, making it difficult for fish and other aquatic life to survive. Only a small amount of algae and microorganisms remain in the lake, and no vegetation grows along the shore, which is how it earned the straightforward and vivid name Dead Sea. There are no tides here, and the lake surface remains calm year-round. Under the sunlight, it resembles a bronze mirror, reflecting the surrounding desolate mountains and deserts, presenting a bleak landscape rarely seen elsewhere. The surface of the Dead Sea is more than 400 m below sea level, and the lakeshore is the lowest point on Earth's exposed land, earning it the nickname "the navel of the world." The extremely high salt content provides buoyancy far exceeding that of ordinary seawater. As long as you relax your body, you can float on your back; even if you can't swim, you don't have to worry about sinking, and you can even lie on the water holding a newspaper to pass the time. The black mineral mud deposited at the bottom of the lake is also a local feature. Many tourists cover themselves in the black mud before floating in the water for a while, which is an iconic Dead Sea experience. The southwest lakeshore on the Israel side is home to many beaches and bathing areas, making it very convenient to experience floating. In the surrounding desert area, you can also participate in adventure activities such as jeep tours, camel riding, and rappelling.Dead Sea Region · 13.5 km from Dead Sea

Old City is a walled ancient city in the heart of Jerusalem. Covering less than 1 square kilometer, it is a place with a high concentration of holy sites for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Old City is traditionally divided into 4 different quarters, each with a distinct atmosphere: the Jewish Quarter has tidy streets and preserves the ruins of the Cardo from the Roman-Byzantine period; in the Christian Quarter, the Way of the Cross - Via Dolorosa, which extends from the Lion's Gate to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, connects 14 stations. The final stations are located within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is believed to be the site of Jesus' crucifixion and burial and welcomes pilgrims from all over the world year-round; in the bustling area, the market streets extending inward from the Damascus Gate are lined with stalls selling spices, sweets, olive wood carvings, and more; the Armenian Quarter is much quieter, where painted ceramic workshops are a long-standing traditional craft. The Temple Mount, located on a high platform in the southeast of the Old City, stands apart from the 4 quarters. The golden-domed Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are both located within this compound. The golden dome is particularly striking in the sunlight and is a highly recognizable landmark on the Old City's skyline; the Western Wall on the west side of the compound is a holy site for Jewish prayer, where many visitors tuck notes with their wishes into the cracks of the stones. The Old City is best explored on foot, with many cobblestone paths, steps, and slopes. When entering religious sites such as churches and mosques, please ensure your shoulders and knees are covered; early mornings and evenings have fewer crowds and softer light, making it easier to avoid the rush and capture beautiful photos.Jerusalem · 36.9 km from Dead Sea

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, also known as the "Hall of Resurrection", is located in the Old City of East Jerusalem, Israel. This is the site of the tomb of Jesus, a Christian holy site, and one of the Christian cathedrals in Jerusalem. This church holds a special significance as the place where Jesus Christ was killed, buried and resurrected. Legend has it that before Jesus was killed, he carried a heavy cross along the "Road of Passion" and walked to the execution ground with difficulty step by step.Jerusalem · 37.2 km from Dead Sea

Masada National Park sits atop a rocky mountain at the junction of the Judean Desert and theDead Sea valley. It is one of Israel's most important historical sites and was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2001. Masada National Park is world-famous not only for its long history, treacherous terrain, and once magnificent palaces, but more importantly for the spirit of Masada. Masada National Park is well preserved and has been reconstructed to honor the site and its heroes. The most impressive structure here is Herod's Northern Palace, built on three rock terraces overlooking the canyon below. Near the palace is a large Roman-style bathhouse with colorful mosaic floors and wall frescoes.Dead Sea Region · 17.3 km from Dead Sea

The Wailing Wall, also known as the Western Wall, is a section of the second temple wall of the ancient Jewish state in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is also the only remaining site of the second temple wall. It is about 50 meters long and 18 meters high. become. Judaism regards the wall as the first holy place. For thousands of years, when Jews who have been living in all corners of the world return to the holy city of Jerusalem, they will come to this stone wall to pray in a low voice and cry about the suffering of exile. Called the "Wailing Wall". Security checks are required before entering the Wailing Wall, and then you enter a small square, at the end of which is the Wailing Wall. There is a fence in front of the Wailing Wall. Men and women pray separately. Tourists need to be the same as the locals. Men must wear the small paper hats distributed (you can get them for free when you enter the square), and women have to retreat and leave. You can see many moving scenes here. Some people are facing the wall here, saying something sadly; some people bow deeply and pray; some hold a Bible and pray silently; some people kiss the Wailing Wall; A white note with the words in their hearts was inserted into the crevices of the stone, because they believed that this letter to God would surely be received by God. Although you can take pictures here, it is recommended not to disturb those who pray, just watch it from a distance. Of course, not all scenes are heavy and sad, but there are also happy scenes. Jewish men's coming-of-age ceremonies will be held in front of the Wailing Wall, accompanied by their family members. Everyone cheers and blesses the boy, wishing him to become an adult on his birthday. After visiting the Wailing Wall, you can visit the Temple Mount on the side and the Dome of the Rock on the mountain.Jerusalem · 36.8 km from Dead Sea

A very interesting and lively place to get lost in. The old city is divided into different religious quarters so it's fascinating to see how the quarters differ and how everyone mingles.

Near the Dead Sea, there is a rocky mountain that rises from the flat ground. The cliff on the east side of this rocky mountain is about 450 meters high, and it goes straight down from the top of the mountain to the shore of the Dead Sea; the cliff on the west side is more than 100 meters high. The top of the rocky mountain is flat and roughly diamond-shaped; it is about 600 meters long from north to south and more than 300 meters wide from east to west. On the top of the mountain, there are the remains of ancient palaces and castles. That is the ancient city of Masada, which has a history of more than 2,000 years. The path leading to the ancient city of Masada is extremely steep and is called the "Snake Path".

In the north of the Old City of Jerusalem, it is said that Judas betrayed Jesus here. There is a tree that is more than 2,000 years old, which is very historical. There is also a stone word "peace" spelled on the ground in the courtyard. It is now also a church.

The Heartbeat of Faith: An Evening at the Western Wall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Visiting the Western Wall (Kotel) in Jerusalem is not merely a sightseeing stop; it is an immersion into the "silent world" of tradition and the very epicenter of human hope. Following the path of the Via Dolorosa, I arrived at the Wall as evening began to fall—a time when the stones seem to glow with the weight of the prayers they hold.A Mosaic of BeliefOne cannot help but feel the overwhelming spiritual energy of this site. It is a profound experience to witness the shared significance of these stones—known as the Kotel to the Jewish people and the Al-Buraq Wall in Islamic tradition. The vast plaza, strictly divided between men’s and women’s sections, reflects a rigorous devotion that has remained unchanged for centuries.Stepping into the women’s section, I was struck by the atmosphere of sacred intimacy. I participated in the ancient ritual that has connected millions of souls across generations: writing a small note of hope and slipping it into a crevice in the ancient limestone. In that moment, among the tears and quiet chants of pilarims from all corners of the globe, I felt a deep connection to a divinity that transcends language.Beyond the Wall, exploring Jerusalem offers a fascinating encounter with the Haredi (ultra-religious) community. Walking through these neighborhoods feels like a journey back in time. I was captivated by the grace and modesty of the women, who elegantly preserve their traditions through the use of sheitels (wigs) or scarves. Our guide shared insightful reflections on how this community is evolving. While historically centered almost exclusively on Torah study, modern economic shifts are now seeing more members of this community enter the workforce—a historic transition that balances millennial identity with the demands of the modern world. My Tip: Visit in the late afternoon or evening. The lighting is more dramatic for photography.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the most famous mosque in the city. The entire building area is quite large. The mosque is located in the complex of buildings on the Temple Mount. The structure of the golden dome is very unique. It is also a place where you can appreciate the religious characteristics of the city of Jerusalem.
